Nationwide auditions, for both men and women, will begin within the month, at shopping malls, sporting events and other public gatherings, where hopefuls will be evaluated by the show's casting directors. Candidates should bring a few changes of clothes — including a bathing suit — and a couple of photos. The casting directors will also accept video submissions; check back here soon for more information on how to submit your video.
For the series, finalists will be evaluated personally by a panel of experts who have their fingers on the pulse of American pop-culture, beauty and style. They will also be featured on the soon-to-debut Are You Hot? website so viewers can vote for their favorites. Sixteen finalists will be flown to Los Angeles for high-end make-over treatments and to go through some traditional pageant-like competitions. Tension will rise to a fever pitch as the group is whittled down until two winners — one man and one woman — are crowned "The Sexiest People in America."

I have absolutely no idea why but this tickles me! Maybe it's the idea that some of those people that you meet in life that are convinced they are the hottest thing to ever hit town and can barely tolerate your very mediocre existence will be put in their places......?
