Thanks for the info, Johnny. I did not know they changed the age groupings. Makes sense, though, because they have some very talented youngsters this year.

They didn't say last year how it was decided who got which group. I'm guessing they won't say this year again. And I'd have to assume LA got over his disappointment over his assignment, or there probably would have been rumors about him being replaced.

The eye patch girl is solo, but they could have put her in a group like they did with other soloists last year who didn't make the cut alone. I was only speculating that she was in the "groups" group.

FWIW, the very popular group One Direction was an assembled group of soloists from Britain's X-Factor show.

I think that is true. But last year they didn't tell us why they decided who to put where. At least not that I saw.

Isn't Simon Cowell one of the producers? I'm sure he has complete say-so over which group he gets stuck with, the others may not have any choice in the matter.

Hopefully she's still in. But sometimes on these shows we get some people that make it through the auditions, and then we never see them again.

Wednesday's show was rerun last night. I watched it a little more closely and paused when they showed all of the two groups that went through (although from a bit of a distance). There was a large black woman in one of the two groups with a multi-colored top on. She was standing close to Diamond, I think. If not Diamond, it was somebody they kept focusing on, but we'd only see the large black woman's arm and part of her top. Once I had that top identified, I kept finding her in shots, but we never did get a good look at her. It's like they did not want us to see her.

They also haven't shown Sopie Tweed Simmons singing other than her initial audition, have they?
Did the heavy set guy in the wheelchair make it through? They showed him blanking on the words to his song, which 9 times out of 10 gets you cut.
