I don't like the "outdated" reasoning. Even if they sang a Beatles song well I'd like it.
Panda is a goddess <333 I hope she'll be fine and goes far.

Me neither. Such a deep voice from a 17-year old. Reminiscent of Scotty McCreery. I love it when I'm surprised, in a good way.
But my favorite of the night is Jeffrey Gutt. I wasn't too sure about him when he started singing the first few lines, then wow! He has the rocker voice! I loved how he made Hallelujah his own. Incredible version of that song.
Some of the people are really good this season.
From episode #3 I liked Vino, Tate, and Panda the most. I think I'd say Diamond too but tbh I don't really remember her voice. For some reason Jessica didn't impress me too much.

I think the better singers went for XF over The Voice. And why not? If I had a great voice (or thought I did!) and I was going to try out on a reality show, why not go for the big bucks?! I don't know how much The Voice is paying, but if it was anywhere near $5 mil, I think they'd be talking about it.
In any case, I've been WOW'd by more people on XF so far. And I have to agree about Jeffrey Gutt. When he said he was going to sing Hallelujah, I thought "Not again!" It's sort of along the lines of all the girls singing Adele. But Jeffrey made me a believer! Hallelujah!

Willie was cool, as was Jeffrey. I was intrigued by Julia's song pick (Pumped Up Kicks). I don't think I've ever seen it sung before on a show. Krysten surprised me but not in a good way. I think she blew her chances not only this year, but any hope of her coming back and doing well.
But who was the true star of the episode?
Kalvin, of course.
