As the Sci-Fi Channel’s new reality series, Who Wants to be a Superhero, takes flight, YOU, TOO, can go “up, up and away” with your very own SUPERHERO CAPE, courtesy of the Sci-Fi Channel!

“OMG,” you say! “How can I do that?”

Why, it’s simple. If you're a registered member of the Fort, just enter our very own WHO WANTS TO BE A SUPERHERO CONTEST!!!

To participate, visit http://www.scifi.com/superhero/game/ and follow the easy directions to CREATE YOUR OWN SUPERHERO or SUPERHEROINE! Let your imagination run wild, and make Stan Lee proud! When you’re finished, hit the “save” button, copy the resulting URL, and PM it to the Legion of Doom representatives Mantenna or hepcat by Thursday, August 10, at Noon, Eastern Standard Time.

If you'd like, you can also include a short paragraph to help everyone get to know your hero a bit better. The bios of the show contestants are a great template!

hahaha Sent you my entry. I don't use my real name as the secret ID (that version of Heromachine cant replicate a 6'6" indian like me anyway) so I created a name, that's alright?

What are the judging criteria, or is it to be a random drawing of all entries?

No, it's not random. The staff will choose favorites from all the entries and put the top five or so up for a public vote.

Really, creativity is key. :nod If a brief description helps bring your character to life, by all means, include it! :up

What does the cape look like? Can you post a picture here?

I had fun working on my entry for a couple of hours. I even created a backstory for my superhero.

No, we can't . . . because we don't know, either. :lol

When we do contests such as these, we never even see the prizes, technically. They come directly from the Sci-Fi channel and get sent to the winner.

I'm sure it's smashing, though. Maybe we should require the winners to post a picture . . . of themselves wearing it. :teeth
