I just want Christina to go far, far away so I don't have to see her on this show anymore. She's the queen of being passive aggressive and giving back-handed compliments. She has gotten in digs at Tony all season and Tony (along with Adam) finally decided to fire back with some of the song choices. Considering the real lyrics to 99 Problems are pretty much totally different than what Tony sang I have no problem with the choice. I personally loved it and the fact that it was like a giant middle finger to Christina. She needs someone to knock her down a few pegs.

I just can't get on the the Chris train. By singing my favorite Josh Groban song and lending himself over to comparisons to him, he did himself no favors in my opinion as no one can ever sing that song like JG and I really don't like when people try.

At this point, I just don't want Chris to win, because that means Christina wins. Any of the other three are a-okay in my book.

Hi, I don't normally comment, but wanted to post that from some time I spent online I found Tony didn't cover Jay Z's version, but Hugo's version, here are the lyrics for you to compare.
HUGO - OLD TYME RELIGION LYRICS

You can also listen to it on iTunes, from album Old Tyme Religion, and it has the same funky bluesy sounding arrangement as Tony's (think Tony sounded better IMHO, just more energy, but Hugo's has a cool, mellow vibe). It seems intentional they did not mention the Hugo version since Jay Z is more well known but also so people might give him more credit for making his own like you say, because Hugo's lyrics are exactly the same and Jay Z's only the chorus. Now it's possible these were written even before Hugo as well, but this was what I could find, and the only one like it on iTunes). I know people often sound off for feeling more than a little duped on the boards for AI when a singer does a great arrangement or a popular song on that show and then come to find out it is copy of another artist's lesser known but terrific arrangement. I think they should credit for that, but either way, it is possible to find these things if you have a few minutes and are curious enough to check...

BTW, I had never heard either version of the song before last night, did some digging because I really liked the sound of the song on the show but wasn't paying close attention to the lyric and since I wasn't familiar with it didn't know what word he was omitting. When Christina said it was derogatory, I wanted to know what it was about, f it would bother me to download. It did, even the Hugo version, just that one line. Adam can say it's just a metaphor for life's problems, but I'd feel ridiculous as a mom driving down the road singing that line or having my young kids hear it, good as it sounds. (So I passed.) It's doing very well on the charts, but I'm sure it turned off a lot of others as well. Wish there was a clean version to download just for the music since Tony didn't want to substitute a word.

Anyway, just pointing it out for information, thought some might find that interesting (and I do wonder if they will mention Hugo at some point, the way Chris Daughtry explained the night after his Walk the Line performance that he did a cover of Live's version, not Johnny Cash's). All the best to Tony if he wins or any of the other contestants. Enjoy the show tonight, everyone!

I actually liked Chris slightly more than Tony last night (followed by Jermaine and then Juliet, who I thought had a bad night). But there is no way in Hades that I want Christina to win. And I feel badly for Chris in that regard. He shouldn't be punished because he ended up on her team. However, she shouldn't be rewarded because he's on her team! I wasn't going to vote, but I ended up voting for Tony to lower Chris' chances of winning.

One thing that bugs me about Christina also bugs me about Adam. I just think it happens more often with Christina. When fans call out "I love you" during their critique of the performer, neither of them can resist stopping and responding to them. IMO, the focus should be on the contestant, not the superstar. Finish the critique, then respond to the fans.
