I'd like a twist where if they can't reach a unanimous decision, their sleeping time also will be cut. Pipe in some annoying Muzak or endless drums and turn on all the lights :D. Maybe after a couple of days with no sleep, they'd give the money - all $10 of it that would be left - to one of them just to escape the torture.
I want to see more "secrets" come out so that they really start doubting each other.
I want them to play subtle mind games.
For example, when nobody is looking, yank the money around a bit unpredictably just to confuse them. Say the countdown is at 356,000 and they all look away. Pop it up to 378,000 and see if anybody notices. Then put it down to 278,000 and see if anyone notices. Then back again at 356,000 and start the normal countdown again. Reward them if anyone notices anything amiss when this happens, otherwise just go back to chipping their reward away.
Also, have at least one flickering flourescent light in the place. On purpose.
Have a subtle soft banging or tapping sound coming from one end of the bunker and see if anybody brings it up.
Have a remote device to simulate backing the toilet up and then when they try to clear it have it not clearable. When they walk away upset to complain or get help, remote flush it so its clear when they come back.
Have annoying JD pop up on the screen sometimes and just stare--saying nothing--shaking his head and then dissapearing.

A great twist would be to change it from Unan1mous to Unanim0us... *nod*
I like that whole subtle changes to the environment idea....
Slowly turn up the temperature. Gradually make it tropical, make the AirCon gradually make louder and louder hissing noises, faulty flourescent lighting flickering. Leave the LCD TVs "off channel", hissing and displaying static. Put strange offputting tastes in their meals.... sugar on their steaks, salt in their orange juice etc.
Oh man. The idea about fooling with their food is genius! Small amounts at first though.
