Preston - Top Design 2

Preston
27
Amarillo, Texas

This Southwestern native began pursuing design at a very young age. Preston studied under numerous designers, architects, developers, and furniture designers and continued formal education at The Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising. After studying abroad for a year in Australia, Preston knew that he was meant for design. He began working with Kenneth Brown Design full-time, before establishing his own design firm two years later, at the young age of 21. Since then, he has worked on a number of high-profile projects including creating the set design for the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, the bar iCandy, green condo complex in West Hollywood, and several celebrity homes. Preston describes his style as being sexy and sophisticated. He believes it is necessary for his clients to be surrounded by beauty and comfort, but he also takes pride in challenging them to think outside the box. "Good design should always have that 'wow factor.'"

If Preston needs help removing the knife from his back, I'd like to volunteer!

Not really sure I understand why he and Ondine ended up at the bottom of the list. I liked the room.

Even if you really, really like the person with whom you are sharing the bunker, you are eventually going to need your own space . . . . . . even if your room mate is as cute as Ricky Schroder!

Yeah, I really didn't get the judges' distaste for the idea of 2 people having their own areas. I'd get more sick of the person I'd be with than the color on the walls without some personal space.

Although....the spaces that shared the same design were more appealing. There is a way to split them up well. I think the right teams won/lost.

Preston and Andrea took the challenge too literally. They judges were not looking for a practical solution. They wanted to see a tiny space turn into a dynamite studio apartment. It makes me think of the surfer dude last season who designed the room with the tidal wave and broken furniture. He won with an art piece for his offering instead of a useable room. Wow them with you skill is the name of the game.

Is this guy gay or straight? He looks like he could be gay (or metrosexual), but acts very masculine - much more so than any of the other men. Secretly hope he's straight 'cause I have a little crush. But, if not - oh well he is a good designer and seems to work well with a partner or in a group. So far, he's my favorite, along with Andrea and the young blond girl with short hair.

Are you sure he's gay? From what I've heard, he isn't sure himself. As for myself, I prefer to have crushes on straight guys. As soon as I find out one is gay, the crush fades away (as if I'd ever have a chance in either case - but one can fantasize). Preston is a sexy pretty boy and I am shallow, so I tend to favor handsome men. Actually, so far that's my only reason for wanting him to win (boy I am shallow).
