Originally from Minnesota, Matt knew he wanted to be a designer since kindergarten. He considers himself a dramatic designer and believes that in order to be a great designer, it takes a combination of drive, ambition and talent all working together.

Matt says, “My philosophy on life has several steps, but the first two are that life is too short and everyone is %*#-ing crazy.”

Married for 10 years, with a four-year-old daughter, Matt says his biggest accomplishment is the playhouse he spent three years building for his daughter.

Matt is likeable, but people who only talk about how they're married and have kids annoy me. Everyone else talked about their professional backgrounds, and all he talked about was his daughter. I can't help but think, "So?"

Kinda like he's gotta push the family/wife/daughter out into the forefront to give him a sense of self-confidence in being successful at that anyway. He's probably just really insecure.

Nah, I think he was making a point of showing that he isn't gay.

Two problems with that:

1) A wife and kid don't prove anything.

2) Nobody cares!

Very young and insucure. He has been married 10 yrs. Wow, does not show. He seems more like 22. I do understand the daughter thing. Its the parent love senario. Still I hated how he held back in the cabana challenge. Personally he should have gone home for doing nothing.

I don't think these contestants have control over what they print about them. All are asked to submit material on their personal and career life and production takes from it what they choose to present a diverse cast. He is the "family man".

He is a quiet guy and probably finds it easier to let a stronger personality take the lead. I dont see it as a fault in this profession where most work alone.

Matt looks SOOOO familiar to me. I see he is from MN as am I, and I'm pretty sure I've seen him before, but I can't say where it would have been! It's driving me crazy!!!

My gaydar rings like crazy about him. I have a feeling that at the very least that he's on the down-low or something that would put his marriage in a precarious position.
