He was also in the middle of the pack 4 times by that episode. She never once was in the middle of the pack for the entire season. Seeing it all on a chart at Wikipedia you can see how strong her record was throughout the season. His was not as strong.

Don't get me wrong, I think they were both great chef's but he didn't distinguish himself as the clear leader in EC. Even with her 3 bottom appearances she was in the top alot more than he was. He had alot of success in QF than her but not in EC
Maybe i am reading it wrong.. but I still see him as the stronger of the 2 by week 8, combined QFs and ECs. Combined over all he had 6 wins to her 3 by week 9. So I still see him as stronger to the mid point, and again like i said, she stepped up and nailed it.

I'm only talking about EC- though her QF performance didn't change all season, I don't see how that applies to her having stepped up. She was already nailing it in EC. It's not like she was middle of the pack and moved up. She wasn't getting more wins or top 3 in the second half than she did in the first half. She had the same amount of wins (2) and top 3 placement (3) from episode 1-7 as she did from epsiode 8-13. She had 1 less B3 in the second half but there was 1 less episode than in the first half as well. It's practically identical

We're just going to disagree on this point. He is very good but I think they were pretty equal. It's seems strange that people think he started well and slipped while she improved, when in reality his EC actually got better in the second half while hers remained practically the same (high)from one half of the season to the other

I don't think Stephanie started weak. She won the first EC, and yes her team was in the bottom for the 2nd EC, but then she was very consistent. Jen faltered on the Improv challenge, as it seemed most of the work was hers. The only major mis-step Stephanie had was the peanut butter-tomato couscous for the healthy family meal challenge.

I thought the reunion show was kinda boing. In fact it was a boring season because the chefs had such bland personalities. I miss Tiffany and Stephan (season 1) they explode the screen with presence. Lets face it season 4 chefs can put anyone to sleep.

Maybe not Andrew or Lisa or Dale when he goes off. But yeah, where was the snark (no one does snark like Dale L., I really missed that this season), the weeping, the ditzy female. At least we got some good bromance, rather than have it forced upon us like last year.

I agree. Richard came on strong from the beginning, but so did Stephanie and at the end she kept her nerve and prepared deliceous and creative dishes.

I understand the fairness issue about the winner of the show not being eligible for fan fave and I would normally agree. HOWEVER TC4 had very few likeable people in it. It was a foulmouthed, rude, argumentative bunch of whiners. Only Stephanie and Antonia came across as likeable. Lucky for all of you I'm too tired to trash each cheftestant individually.

Lisa deserved Tom's remark about being a long shot for fan fave. She was a sourfaced bitch for the whole season and was rewarded for her poor performance by making it to F3.

I think the reunion was a little boring but I did enjoy a lot of the clips they showed. I don't remember seeing it mentioned in this thread but was anyone else shocked at Tom's wording towards the challenge he wasn't there for? The one when Dale went home over Lisa. He said he saw it differently than the actual outcome. He thought Lisa messed up 2 dishes whereas he thought Dale only messed up one. That being said, looks like Dale would have stayed with Lisa getting the boot if Tom was there and not Anthony Bourdain. Also, it came across to me like Tom doesn't care to much for Lisa. That little zinger towards her not winning fan fave was kinda funny to me.

Well at least we learned that if Tom Colicchio wasn't away that time that Lisa would've gone home instead of Dale.

It was obvious to everyone that Lisa, as the designated villain of the show, was not in the running for fan favorite. For Colicchio to tell this to Lisa was a low brow remark and lacked class.

As for likeable Stephanie and Antonia here is what they thought of Lisa.

I guess Tom doesn't keep in touch with Tony even though he questions Tony's decision to send Dale home instead of Lisa. The crux of Bourdain's decision was that one inedible dish (Dale's butterscotch scallops) trumped two bad but still edible dishes(Lisa's) plus the fact that it was Dale who gave Lisa the rice for rice pudding and told her that she could make sticky rice from it.
