| Re: Lisa - Season 4 I have never been so happy that a person failed to win as I was with Lisa. This woman seems like she has some serious issues. I do agree with the above poster that she seems to have problems fitting in maybe her sexuality was not a easy thing to accept or something and this has kept her feeling like she has to keep up that barrier. You could tell by the stance and the look on her face whenever she was standing that she was unapproachable, cold, negative, and nasty. Sorry I do not care how great a person cooks at some point when someone is this nasty and negative there has to be a little of that attitude that will spill over and come through in the dishes that she prepares. I can only wonder why she made it into the final 3. I am still amazed by that one. |

| Re: Lisa - Season 4 I don't think it has anything to do with her sexuality and everything to do with the fact that she is a woman in a male-dominated field in one of the most competitive markets in America. Everyone handles it differently. |

| Re: Lisa - Season 4 This is a game COMPETITION. And while I have no desire to buddy up to Lisa, I do think that she is not a horrible person. She has a somewhat negative personality that was EDITED to be a always negative personality. She was the villian for this season, that doesn't make her a bad cook. I don't think they get on the show if they are a aweful cook. They just may not be able to make things up on the fly. I'm not as glad that she didn't win, as I am glad that Stephanie won.

| Re: Lisa - Season 4 I agree that she gave them plenty of moments to feature. But all I am saying is that is not ALL who she is. They most likely had many moments of her laughing that they chose not to use. I am not saying people are picking on her. I am just trying to add a element of objectivity to the discussion. I wasn't rooting for her, but I wouldn't spit on her if I saw her on the street and that is the level of discussion I see in many of the posts, articles, etc. Here and elsewhere.

| Re: Lisa - Season 4 We all have ugly things about our personalities, and we all have ugly moments, and we all reveal them at some time or another - under all sorts of diverse conditions. Armchair psychology (my own, of course) tells me that Lisa is just insecure - so fearful of rejection or criticism that she goes on the offensive as a means of emotional survival. From what I could see through the VERY limited scope of the tv show is that she is a bit of an outsider who wants to be an insider but yet she doesn't know how to break through. She also strikes me as the kind of person who functions best in black and white situations. It's all good when everyone follows the rules and plays fairly, but she gets unruffled when they don't. I'm the boss, now do as I say, etc. When the world doesn't function like this and when people are rewarded for personality over performance, Lisa goes bonkers. She'll have to get over this if she is to have an enjoyable life. IMHO, the majority of people operate from a position of subjectivity rather than objectivity. Lisa needs to worry more about getting along with people than getting her meal 100% right. People will respond to the former more than they would the latter. And she needs to learn this lesson. I like Lisa. Yeah, she needs to work on a few things, but I cut her tons of slack because I think she has some emotional issues. Overall, I do not think she's deserves the humongously bad wrap she's been getting. |
