Marcel Vigneron - Season 2 - Page 6

What is that catapillar-like thing below Marcel's lower lip? It isn't visable during the competition portions of the show, but it is very obvious in the confessionals. Is it facial hair or something nasty? Whatever it is, it grosses me out!

This show proved my villain edit theory. Notice how tonight Marcel said something along the lines of "I don't care if you're my friend. I don't care if you're my enemy. It's about the food. We just have to cook together."

On the season premier they used the same clip when they were establishing Marcel as a villain. We saw interviews where the other chefs badmouthed him. (Illan especially.) And then they ran part of that clip. The part where he says "I don't care if you're my friend." We didn't get the full quote so our first impression is that Marcel is going to be a conniving SOB. So far that hasn't panned out, though. There's been a lot of lying, back-stabbing and rule breaking this season, but Marcel hasn't been guilty of any of it.

The other chefs showed their true colors tonight -- that color being Heather!

Betty = Heather Chandler
Illan = Heather Duke
Sam = Heather McNamara

Sam really came off looking like a weasel when he tried to instigate a fight between Marcel and that 300lb tub of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" (aka Frank). How smarmy is it that he sent a drunk fat guy to go beat up a little twerp like Marcel?

I agree. I'm really not getting why everyone hates Marcel so much, and I am very easily irritated by people on this show. Some of the stuff Betty says to him seems incredibly cruel, when she has repeatedly tried to humiliate him in front of the entire cast and the judges in what seems to be an infantile manner. I mean he's a little arrogant and a little annoying, but a lot of them are. He's no Tiffany from season 1.

I agree, I don't think Marcel is as bad as they are making him out to be. Betty seems to be completly nuts yet they all like her. I just don't get it or they are leaving a lot on the editing room floor.

A poster on the Bravo Msg Bd was in contact with Frank and got this info from him: As you know, there is a serious lack of bathroom facilities where the chefs sleep/eat (for instance, Michael walking in on Marisa). Besides being naturally full of himself and obnoxious, Marcel is also a bathroom hog. Instead of just doing the normal things one does in a bathroom, Marcel spends an average of 40 minutes each morning(and night) primping and screwing around with his hair. The other chefs, like Frank, have been forced to use the kitchen to brush their teeth and shave,all because of Marcel.

I'm skeptical of any accusation against Marcel that comes from anyone associated with The Clique.

But even if this is true, there are ways to deal with a bathroom hog. Threatening physical violence over an incident that has absolutely nothing to do with hogging the bathroom is not one of them. And this doesn't explain why Frank would need to leave his things in the kitchen instead of packing them up when he's not using them.

They were also really broken up when Emily left, and that girl has a serious meanstreak.

The bathroom hogging was why Frank was using the kitchen to brush his teeth and shave in the first place. I think there are other reasons why Marcel is disliked by Frank. The most recent reason was when Cliff tasted both Frank's and Marcel's sauces and chose Marcel's. Frank has been in the restaurant business longer than Marcel has been alive and to his mind he was being "upstaged by this know-it-all punk". When Sam mentioned that Marcel had moved Frank's toiletries to the floor, he neglected to mention that the toiletries were put in a bag that was on the floor...big difference. Frank should have checked the kitchen before letting his dislike of Marcel lead to the physical threat. Frank was wrong in this and he was wrong to leave his toiletries out in the open in the kitchen area...not exactly sanitary.

Marcell's a little bit slimy, but no more so than most of the other competitors in this season. They're all cutthroat backstabbing bastards.

I am not a Marcel fan. He came in way too cocky, rubbed everyone the wrong way, and now wonders why everyone is picking on him.

Still, two wrongs don't make a right, and the others have made themselves out to be worse than Marcel by letting him get to them.
