For the first time...I was impressed with Lisa's finished products. Her dishes looked tasty and well presented.
Richard and the liquid Nitrogen turn me off. I keep thinking chemicals in ICE CREAM! It was poured in the food? Ewwww...no...no...no.. that's a no go for me. I can deal with the torches and smokers...and I like when he cooks with ordinary sautee' pans.
Stephanie, I've loved her throughout the entire show. I wasn't impressed with everything she did TONIGHT...but I think she deserved the win based on her past performances.
However, Lisa gave Stephanie a run for her money. I liked the look of Lisa's menu better than Stephanie's. I'd probably prefer Lisa's. I would really have to taste the food to be sure.
Oh, and I am so happy Stephanie WON!
Steph, Antonia, and Richard were my favorite chefs this season.
I hated Lisa's attitude.
Great remarks. I missed the show tonight. Steph has been my favorite all
along. Not just for her creativity in the kitchen, but I think she has been the
chef with the most even disposition. That rates really high in my book, and
should be a quality that most high end restaurants would look for. JMO.
I know its much more dramatic when they curse and throw things, but to me,
that doesn't add one positive thing to mix in the kitchen. (Hell's Kitchen) lol
Congrats Steph! You really really deserved this win.
I just looked at the dishes on Bravo and Stephanie's looked quite yummy. Richard's looked just so-so. Lisa's surprised me that looked weird was the Tom Ka soup. What's with all the stuff on the spoon? I guess I'm not much of a gourmet because that looked difficult to eat. The Black Thai Rice dish just looked too hard to find the rice. Was the stuff on top for just the eye or was it all supposed to be mixed in the rice by the diner? Her prawns looked quite delicious, however. Is that the round she won?
Stephanie's quail breast dish looks like something I would like to try someday. Did she win that round?
One Bravo blog reads: Stephanie chose the uber-sexy Chef Ripert, while Richard stuck with Dan Barber. That left Lisa with April Bloomfield....

He said it was a variation of a dish he previously used. Richard just overthought too much. More complicated doesn't always mean better. I don't think Richard had a chance to win with the meal he prepared, but he still shouldn't have said that he choked.Originally Posted by niteowl64;3051934;
Lisa didn't deserve to be there, but based on the "blank slate" guidlines for judging (just between us FORTers) I was really worried that she would win. My guess is that the dishes she prepared are tried and true standards for her that she's prepared many times.
Congrats to Stephanie! I will never understand her not being prepared to create several different kinds of dessert for this finale, but based on this meal and her record for the season she more than deserved this.
I totally agree...she is a calm cook. Antonio is too.Originally Posted by daystar;3052249;
Bravo now has a vote for the top fan favorite. Two of the 5 choices are Casey and Sam from TC. Michael Knight from PR is another one of my faves, along with Casey. I didn't know where to post this, so if it needs to be moved, that's okay.![]()
