Hung won the Quickfire... Yay!
I liked Padma's "bed-hair" (which you know some stylist spent an hour doing... but whatever).
What was the quickfire? Have pitty on those who have to wait more than 2 hours to see it!Originally Posted by texasgal26;2570502;
The Quickfire was to cook Padma breakfast in the penthouse kitchen (all still in their pjs... including Padma I think). Hung cooked upscale steak and eggs and some smoothie with Grand Marinier which won Padma over. She also loved Sara M.'s french toast w/ prosciutto. But there was no one in the bottom... she seemed to like everyone's.
Padma woke everyone up to make her breakfast.

Chefs fly to New York but are stuck cooking a Continental Airlines business class meal at the Newark airport before they're allowed on the island. They are allowed to make pretty upscale dishes at least. Hung was getting flack for not helping CJ even though Hung had already finished with time to spare.

They are serving some "travel experts" - flight attendants!
Thank you. That explains the bedhead comment.Originally Posted by texasgal26;2570522;
Breakfast is the hardest thing to cook, from what I have heard. Seems like everyone did well. Or Padma is easy.
So far Brian's lobster was overcooked; Dale's steak did pretty well but he was short one dish; CJ's is getting bad, bad reviews; Sara M's fish did very well; Hung's fish was a home run; Casey's veal is good.
I like the idea of this challenge but they have no idea how airplane ovens heat. Unless you made something generic that can't be overcooked no matter what, its a guessing game. They should have at least let them fiddle around first so they had an idea what to do
