Top Chef wins Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program

Holy cow! It beat out Amazing Race, Project Runway, Idol, and Dancing with the Stars!

It's the first show in this category EVER to win without the words "Amazing Race" in the title! That alone is a major achievement.

Congrats to Tom, Padma, Gail, and the Magical Elves!

I was very excited to see them win.

I wish Padma had not acted like a fool and kept interrupting the guy who was speaking though.

I would have preferred PR, but this is a good second to break the lock the AR has had on this category!

Yay! It was so sweet how excited they all were onstage - Gail in particular! You could tell it was so genuine, even Padma.

Congrats. But I notice Padma made a real fool of herself.

I pulled it up on You Tube. Other than laughing a couple of times and saying "I'll say!" when the producer said they were all surprised, I didn't see Padma doing anything particularly odd. Did I miss something?

I have enjoyed this show, but Dancing With the Stars got robbed. That show is really entertaining. Top Chef hardly comes close to that level of entertainment IMO. Go figure.

I thought she was acting a wee bit tipsy on stage inasmuch as her giggling and her "I'll say!" were actually interrupting the acceptance speech. Very bad form. Did you notice that she kept fussing with her hair, too?

I think Padma was just super excited, out of her element, and couldn't control herself.

I can believe that she was a wee bit tipsy. They probably had no expectation of winning and having to be on stage. She was a bit goofy - especially compared to her usual "unsilly" affect on the show - but not obnoxiously so, IMHO.
