That was a joke waiting to happen; Bonnie was too busy laughting to take advantage of it. I think BH is hysterical.

My husband and I enjoyed watching Fabio this season and roared with laughter at most of his comments....especially just after he broke his finger. We're so happy he won fan favorite. Good for him!

Oh well....enjoy your Fabio-love, everybody!
I don't think he is unct...uncute.... whatever...just a little cheesy! We all enjoyed Fabio at our house this season. We all imitated his accent the whole show and had a great time.

It was hilarious at one point in the show where he said, "I'm 30 years old and sleeping in a bunkey (sic) bed."

When he won $10,000 as the fan favorite, I was surprised he was going to plow it into his restaurant. I thought it would go towards medical expenses for his mother who is ill in Italy. That's why he wanted to win the big prize.

I don't think one is mutually exclusive from the other. I mean yes he could send his mother a check for $10,000, but that money would be better spent improving his restaurant, especially with all the promotion from Top Chef.

That way he can make more money in his restaurant and send that to his mamma.

Re: Fabio - Top Chef: New York

He was my favorite, period. He's cute and happy and sincere.

I know this sounds weird, but I kept replaying the scene when he broke his finger just so I could hear him speak Italian

I also liked how when he served the food during that episode (and during judges table) he kept his hand behind his back (but without making it too obvious). I really liked how he wasn't one to play up his injury and try to garner sympathy.

Re: Fabio - Top Chef: New York

Glad to see others were fans of Fabio. He had two fans in this house.

Our favorite Fabio-ism came when he was describing his car. You could almost hear him swallow the not-so-good-for-tv words while searching his brain for the more acceptable "poo".

He probably sends her money and the restaurant improvement will bring him more income and able to support her for the long haul. Good move.

'Top Chef' Fabio - My Old Boss Is a Jerk, Chicken

Posted Sep 27th 2009 1:45AM by TMZ Staff

'Top Chef' fan favorite winner Fabio Viviani claims his old business partner quick-fired him for all the wrong reasons -- and now he's suing the guy for everything and the kitchen sink.

Fabio and a guy named Jacopo Falleni are going after Michael Takeda -- because they claim Michael promised them handsome rewards for helping him start a restaurant in 2006 ... but never got squat.

In the lawsuit, filed in Superior Court in Ventura County, Fabio and Jacopo say they worked 130-140 hours a week for six months getting Cafe Firenze off the ground -- and were promised 15% ownership of the joint and $4,000 a month for their hard work.

And there's this: Fabio claims he's the reason the place got popular ... because after his stint on "Top Chef," business skyrocketed from a half-million dollars a year to nearly $4 million.

In the lawsuit, the fellas claim Takeda chickened out when it came to paying them the 4k a month and never acknowledged their 15% ownership.

They are suing for unspecified damages.
Interesting! I googled around and found a local news item about Fabio going on Top Chef, and it said that Takeda is also Fabio's father-in-law! Even more interesting!

Sounds like a Blagovich situation to me. LOL

(for those who don't get it, Blago's FIL helped get him his start in politics and now he (Blago) is blaming said powerful FIL for all his troubles)
