| Re: Richard - Season 4 I think he is probably another one of those "molecular gastronomist" guys. I hope he is a little less weird than Marcel...... |

| Re: Richard - Season 4 After watching the season premiere, I think he will be less "weird" than Marcel, psycobabe007. Sure, I'm sure he'll have some, um, odd presentations, but I already FAR prefer him to Marcel. | |

| Re: Richard - Season 4 I think this guy will definately be in the top 3. Even though he does the Molecular Gastronomy thing he isn't a freak like Marcel. He's been in the top a lot and is really consistant. |

| Re: Richard - Season 4 See, there's something about him I don't care for. Yes, he's very talented, but I can't figure out why I don't like him. |

| Re: Richard - Season 4 He does fall into that annoying Marcel-like need to add "science" to his dishes too often. Do all "molecular gastronomists" have this "OMG I NEED TO SHOW THEM I KNOW STUFF" attitude? But he is no Marcel. He is more mature, more humble and seems to make more soulful, well-received food. I like him.

| Re: Richard - Season 4 Richard is my early favorite! I think he'll definitely make it to the top 3 if not win. It seems like his interest in molecular gastronomy is tempered with a respect for simplicity, classic prep/technique, etc, which I think makes for a very good chef. I really like the fact that he straddles the line between the two extremes - I'm so tired of people either clutching to that 'comfort food' title like it's their childhood blanket or, at the opposite end, trying to cook every protein in a thermal emulsion circulator! |

![]() I agree that Richard will probably make the top 3. He's very talented. I think it's his personality... it bores me so far. Yes he's no Marcel, but he really needs to put away the toys. He seems to have this need to show them off every episode. TG the smoker broke! ![]() | |

| Re: Richard - Season 4 I'm sick of the "smoke machine" gizmos already too, but I think he is a very strong chef besides his perverse desire to make all of his dishes fume like the wicked witch after being doused with a bucket of water.
