I like him, but I think his performance in the first episode's challenges was maybe a needed wake-up call for him. I wonder if he thought he would be able to coast. If he did, now he knows he won't be able to...

Alright, I'll admit I was first drawn in by the curly hair and the accent, but I think Mark will remain my favorite anyway.

Kudos to Mark for winning the quick fire challenge, even if he walked off without the lettuce.

I am in freaking love with him!
He's awesome!
After the first episode I was glad he is starting to do better.
By the previews he looks like he is going to be around for a while,
so I'm excited for that.

He's my favorite. He is adorable with a cute face and attractive personality. Besides, I love Kiwi's. I fell in love with New Zealand when I was there a few years ago (the people are very gracious and welcoming). I hope he does well.

He is adorable. Which is not something I look for in a chef, but it helps when watching TV to have adorable cuties to watch.

Does anyone know what Mark put into his taco last night? His portion of the quick fire challenge was COMPLETELY IGNORED. He wasn't the only contestant not to be shown. Maybe if we had a few less commercials, there would be time to show each contestant. There really aren't all that many of them - how about a little equal time please!!!!

I agree and was also disappointed that we didn't see all of the entries on the quickfire (don't we usually see them all?). What's up?

When the field is as big as it is, they don't show all of the QF dishes. By the time they're down to fewer than 10 contestants, they usually show them all. Personally, I'd rather see what they make in the QF because you get a better sense of the skill level under fire, rather than the stock "crazy cooking fast" montage we get every week.

I suspect with this many cheftestants you can only show the top three and the bottom three with a few thrown in to throw off the viewer.
