8/14 Top Chef Masters 5 - Show Discussion **Spoilers**

    Enjoy the show everyone!

I just realized the chef Neil Fraser reminds me of an older, heavier David Spade. Although I haven't seen David Spade in years, so he's probably a bit older and heavier himself!!

For the QF the chefs are making curry to go with a particular brand of beer.

Elimination challenge: James Oseland tells the chefs that they will provide a global tasting. The twist is that it's actually a surprise engagement party for Curtis Stone. His fiancÚ shows up. Where do I recognize her from??

Doug's sous chef Drew won their competition, so he has immunity.

Bryan, Lynn, and Sang's sous chefs were on the bottom. They only get 15 mins to shop.

I looked up the fiancÚ in IMDB, and I'm still not sure where I've seen her. She was in single episodes of a bunch of shows when I was a kid. She was also in a ton of movies and television shows since then, almost all of which I've never watched. I have seen a couple of episodes of How I Met Your Mother, so maybe that's it...

    Elimination time!

    Top chefs (red team):
    Sue
    Doug
David (He served broth which seems like a crazy risk to me, but what do I know!?)

They are ALL winners and get $5000 for their charities!

    Bottom chefs (green team):
    Franklin
    Neal
    Jennifer

    Going home: Franklin

    Next week: Restaurant Wars!

Well, the show is over and still no one here! I'm going to sleep. Nighty night!

Sorry, Closet :-) I watch TV in the living room and leave my computers in the office, so I don't log in here until afterward.

Wasn't Lindsay Price on Hawaii Five-0 this year? As the nurse Leilani? I think that's where I remember her from.

I was glad that the three chefs whose sous chefs landed them in the bottom (so that they ended up only getting 15 minutes to shop) were at least safe. And I kinda figured it was Franklin who was going home when they started promoting his charity (and then he made two dishes and a drink, which was silly).

And it was nice that they told the top three that they were all "best" and donated to all of their charities.

Yes, I liked that the donation was spread among the top three.

It was fun to meet friends and family at the party - gives Curtis a human touch.

I wonder why the servers were so slow? It seemed weird to try to serve three courses, even bite sized, at a cocktail party. Unfortunately, the only cocktail served bombed and so did the Chef who created it.

It was also fun to watch the bottom three plan their 15 min attack at the grocery...aiming at the basket heading down the escalator and making the shot -
