That first guy who got thrown out of the kitchen for butchering the pork . . . was that a TOTAL "gonna get bumped first" edit, or what?

I'm confused about the Vegan Chef, he said the idea of the pork was making him sick. Why would a vegan chef come on a show where they will be made to cook with meat, it won't be an option for most competitions.

I don't think the guy that was told to leave by Tom was a real chef. I think he was just planted there for drama. He was way over the top. He totally butchered that side of pig to where it wasn't even recognizable.. I could have done better than that and I'm in no way a trained chef. Plus.... He didn't work for a restaurant...he was a personal chef. That way we can't tie him to anything specific.

I love this show and most Bravo shows but I wish they would stop with the BS and just give us honest to goodness shows. They seem to think we're all a bunch of brainless fools.

He's a real chef -- here's his website bio: Chef Tyler Stone Bio

Also he belongs to the California Strawberry Board, whatever that is: California Strawberry Commission - Chef Tyler Stone

He's like a cross between Marcel/S2 and Stephen/S1. With even worse hair.

Re: Top Chef 9: Texas (premieres Wed. Nov. 2) - News and Speculation

Loved the first show as usual.... it's interesting what you think about the contestants in the beginning and then what you think by the end. So I always try to watch closely. I was surprised they didn't get thru all the contestants the first show and then have the next show being about "the bubble". Even though most of the contestants have a 2011 nominated behind their name, it doesn't seem like they are as at ease with their skills or sophisticated as last season.
I'm surprised the guy butchering the pork even got in as far as he did. He was obviously trying to put on with Tom when he was questioned and then when the other cook came for her tenderloin - he didn't have a clue.
I'm excited. The new, different judges should add in something (hopefully good) and I heard that pee-wee herman would be a guest this year.. where did that come from??!

This is my first post and the reason I joined this board was to talk with other ppl who love top chef. howdy to you all

I have to say, Emeril brings nothing to this show.. and Hugh in my opinion takes away from it. I would rather have Tony on full time!
