Yeah, that's what I thought. That's why you take them out before serving. How is that going to work? Will fying the leaves take out the poisons?

Even if it did, it would be like eating, well, a leaf!

I think it's interesting how the sous chefs' choices were dead even. I really expected everyone to go for Ilan. Perhaps Marcel isn't as awful to work with as we think?

And no, I don't think Mia, Sam, or even Frank would stoop so low as to choose to work with Marcel to sabotage him.

I like the balance of the Marcel-Sam-Michael team... I'm excited to see what both meals look like.

By the way, I've stayed in that hotel and it is INSANE! It's so big you either have to take a boat or a monorail to your room. And that Japanese restaurant is really good.

There are actually 3 different species of bay leaf. The mountain bay leaf is poisonous but is not used typically in cooking. I am going to guess that the bay leaf they are using is the Mediterranean bay leaf, which is what you typically buy in the grocery store.

I like learning new things! The movie "Song and Lyrics" looks good - I'd like anything with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant!

Ahh, Ilan is smart ! The judges are meant to just eat the batter off of a bay leaf fritter, leaving the leaf!!

Ah, now I see what he was doing with the bay leaves. He instructed the guests to eat the fritter off the leaf. Now it makes a little more sense.
