Probation? What is this, college? Good grief.

So I guess this was a team competition.

Was anything said about Michael's extra spending?

Does anyone here think the "cheating" was on purpose or was it inadvertent?

    I will say this.

The nutritionist should have left them with a calorie count for the units of measure for each ingredient. That way if a change needed to be made they as chefs would not have to guess...

I am sure she had an idea of how much the egg she reduced was worth and how much each tbs of sugar was worth. They were way under and so I can see making the adjustment so long as the didn't go over 500 calories.

Plus, the cookies was not what won the challenge. It was the pizza.

On the other hand...I can see the others points that if the rule was to not change the recipe at all then the deviators should be disqualified.

(I heard they were locked in..but I thought that meant they couldn't change the individual dishes they selected...but it was ok to tweek the ingredients so long as they don't go over)

Oh my...but how would you know if you were still under 500 cal.? You couldn't know.

Since, there was widespread deviation I can see not penalizing the majority because obviously the rules were not clear or understood.

But, the olive oilers...that was worse than swapping an egg for sugar IMO. THat was blatant cheating UNLESS they thought that if it was in the kitchen then it was healthy and ok to use.

Speaking of Spoilers, the introductory video to the Wong Way to Cook showed Lee Anne putting tomato sauce on three pizzas. As soon as Frank's team announced the they were making pizza, I was almost certain that his team had the winning dish.

Yeah, I wondered why she gave Frank the credit. Maybe cause he put the ingredients together??

Anyway, I understand Betty's dilema because here she has a recipe that does not work so what is she supposed to do? In the works of Tim Gunn "Make It Work". Even next week's preview shows Tom Coligio telling the chefs that if they have a recipe that does not work that they need to fix it. Duh!! 180 here. I see her take an egg yolk out. Full of fat and put in 2 tablespoons of sugar, which by the way is a no fat food to save the recipe.

1 egg yolk equals 59 calories, 1 egg white equal between 16 or 17 calories for a total of 75 calories. Betty removed a 59 calorie egg yolk and added 2 tablespoons of sugar. 1 tablespoon of sugar is 45 calories. So Betty's math was OK. The nutritionist say they had 450 calories in their meal subtract 59 and add 90 equals 481.

BTW 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil is 120 calories so all those squeeqee bottle squeezers are alot more quilty then Betty if we are going to pass any blame around.
