Samualson seems determined to be the villian in this episode.

Just plain pompous and rude of him to suggest to Monica that she lost because she helped Carmen.

Glad someone else saw the Double Dip. Surprised he didn't get called on it.

I may be cynical, but I believe that it was no happy accident that particular scene was shown instead of ending up on the cutting room floor.

Re: Top Chef Masters 4/14 Show Discussion **Spoilers**

I'm not enjoying this season as much as the one before, the majority of these chefs seem to be very ego driven.

Marcus - I wouldn't have helped her either. It is a competition and those who helped her wound up ruining their own dishes because they took the time to help her and then wound up ruining her dish anyways (I'm wondering if hers was really all that wonderful or if they felt sorry for her because of what happened?)

Anyways, if I had been in the same situation, I would have only helped if my own dishes were already done. It's a competition and those are the breaks, tough luck for her but sacrificing your own dish to help somebody else win isn't a way to win *shrugs*

That being said, I don't like Marcus but it's not because of him not helping. From what he said (and I believe a good bit of it was edited out to make him more villainous) he would have helped her if he hadn't been in the weeds with his own dish. Not once did they show him finishing early and taking it easy.

Sadly, none of the chefs that have made it into the semi-finals are ones I like so I'm not pulling for anybody yet. Next week promises to be a drama filled mess but I'm fairly sure that when it plays out it will be nothing like what they previewed.

And finally, I'm liking the hostess more this season than last. I was rather impressed with how informed she sounded when commenting on the grilled cheese sandwiches during the QF (and then we find out that she was reading off a teleprompter or cue cards LOL! kidding).

Did anyone think it was weird that Gonzalez's dish appeared to have not been stored at the proper temp and yet she served it?
