Update to my last post. It seems that Jenelle has not escaped justice on assault charges. She WAS charged. Here's a link on TMZ:

The other girl in the video that pushed Jenelle into Britney in the beginning, and got involved later should be charged with something as well. I am so sick of these kids acting like this. It is time that Jenelle sits in jail and rots for a long while. I hope that she loses all chance at Jace now that girl is a piece of work. I also hope any money she gets from MTV is used up with fees for court, and she loses everything. Sick of people having no account for stupidity.
You are expecting
waaay too much from a music television station. They will basically film everything and only step in if someone's life is obviously at immediate risk; and that's only because failure to do so would make them criminally negligent in a court of law.

Unfortunately, such behavior is not new for MTV. I remember being appalled a number of years ago when on Real World: Hawaii, Ruthie got behind the wheel of a car while obviously inebriated. They followed her down the road in another care, but they did not stop her, and it was quite obvious before she even got into the car that she was well over the legal limit to drive. She could easily have killed herself or someone else--for that matter, in the first episode of that season, her roommates had to call an ambulance because she had alcohol poisoning. Eventually, her roommates had an intervention, and Ruthie, fortunately, has cleaned up her act since then, but it was very scary when she got into that car and started driving. If her roommates couldn't stop her, somebody from production really should have stepped in--or just called the cops, if they couldn't control her themselves.
SAVE THE WHALES..THE OCEANS DIE..WE DIE!!!
Jace's life isn't in the type of immediate danger that MTV would need to step in and help with. He isn't in physical danger; possibly mental danger when he is older, but he is not in any physical harm and he isn't being abused, therefore MTV is not responsible to help out.
I think that Jace's life was put in danger the minute he was born. He is at great risk of being abused or neglected because his mother is an admitted drug user and partier who considers having fun with drugs and her friiends more important than taking care of her child.
When a parent has so little judgment that they think it okay to steal, lie, fight and break into houses, then they are demonstrating how dangerous they are for the child.
Fighting, even if Jace is not in the immediate area, is still dangerous for Jace because he grows up in the culture of violence. Lots of times adults go seeking to get revenge on rivals only to accidentally kill the child who just happend to be standing nearby. So yes, Jenelle's fight has many factors that constitute a danger to Jace.
