A child with health issues is already a big strain on a marriage...if anyone deserves medicaid its those girls and I hope they can get it to help them out
SAVE THE WHALES..THE OCEANS DIE..WE DIE!!!
The nice thing about whatever help Allie gets is that her parents are genuinely trying their best to put it to use. Leah said something on the reunion show about working with Allie as part of her therapy; it's not just that a childhood specialist comes to the house, but that Allie's parents are then consistent about following up on helping Allie practice the skills she's being taught. As someone else pointed out, it's even simple things like the fact that once Allie got her glasses, she was wearing them every time we saw her. Obviously her parents had to be following up on that consistently too, because she's too little to put on her own glasses.
There's rumors floating about that he went into their joint accounts (which included money that was earmarked for the children) and was withdrawing a lot of money to spend on crap (including a 18,000 dollar truck) without consulting her first. She only found out about it when she was checking bank statements and saw the withdrawals.
I hate to say that I am not surprised by the separation. Leah had a lot of misgivings about he marriage in the first place. She always had trust issues with him. It would be really scummy if Corey did take all that money. What is it with hillbillies and their trucks?
They both got on twitter and said that they were not splitting up and it was a rumor. Corey believes someone else hacked into his and posted the first message. Both him AND Leah posted messages saying that they were still together and not getting a divorce.
Okay, some better news on the Leah/Corey front, via one of those magazines--In Touch or something like that; again, I read it in the gym and they have all of them, so I don't really remember which one it was. Allie is walking with the help of what were described as tiny pink braces. They also have a little walker for her to use. Since they said on the show that she had to show progress toward walking by the time she was two in order to have much hope that she would, that would be good news. Even if she has to use a walker or crutches forever, she still appears to be able to make progress toward some kind of independent mobility.
The article also had some comments from Ashleigh, Jenelle's sister (the one who is supposedly pregnant with triplets and moving back home). This is her take on the Jenelle/Barbara situation: Jenelle and Ashleigh's biological dad walked out on them when Jenelle was around three. At that point, Barbara was left with three kids to raise on her own, and Ashleigh described her brother (whose name I don't recall) as having "some difficulties." I don't know if that means physical, emotional, or mental problems or just a learning disability or something like that (she wasn't at all specific). In order to support the family, Barbara worked three or four jobs at a time, but prior to that, Ashleigh recalled the family situation as worse, because her father fought with Barbara all the time. When Mike became their stepfather (I thought he was just Barbara's boyfriend, but the article said stepfather, though I suppose that could just be the way Ashleigh viewed him, marriage or not), things improved somewhat, because he made decent money, and the family financial pressures were lessened. However, when they moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania (again, either the article wasn't clear about why they moved or I wasn't paying enough attention to the article), Mike took a cut in pay, and that made things more precarious financially again. Ashleigh also mentioned that Jenelle was an honors student prior to her going all wild child and that she got pregnant very quickly after she started partying.
If all that's true, I think it explains a lot about both Jenelle and Barbara, particularly Barbara. Trying to raise three kids, one with problems, while working three or four jobs would work anyone's last nerve. And if Jenelle seemed to be working toward a promising future and then just started partying and got pregnant ASAP after that, it must have been a huge disappointment for Barbara, not to mention another financial issue with which to deal. Seems like Barbara's spent most of her adult life worrying about bad relationships, kids, and finances. That has to be a tension-packed way to live. And now she's raising one grandchild and another daughter has three more on the way and is moving back in with her? Yikes.
At the very least, if the article's accurate, it did seem to indicate that Jenelle's assessment that her mother's relationship with all her kids is exactly like hers with Jenelle might be slightly inaccurate. Ashleigh didn't seem particularly hostile about Barbara. Perhaps because she's older, she now understands a little better that things haven't been easy for any of them, including Barbara.

Honestly, the Corey and Leah drama is fishy to me. Someone hacked into his account? Does he think he's that important that someone would actually do that? I don't! I wonder if they didn't just reconcile and Corey thinks that is the best way of covering things up. Is he dumb enough to think that everyone else will think "someone hacked my account" makes sense. Why would anyone do that?
Jenelle doesn't sound smart to me at all. I don't get it. When was she an honor student? Fourth grade? My younger sister started skipping class and not doing her school work when she was in 10th grade. All of her friends were slackers as well. My mom ended up taking her out of school and she finished off her education through community college classes and by "reading" textbooks that she never actually read. To this very day, my mother tells people that my sister was so intelligent that she was just bored in class. I think it is very common to overstate your family member's abilities. It is just really hard to believe that Jenelle was smart. I remember someone at the college mentioned she had good grades as well. Maybe we just have really low standards these days.
