Re: Russell Hantz - Survivor Samoa

I'm finally beginning to learn the names of some of the other players. And this season has been on for quite a while now.
I am more than ready for him to implode, but I have a gnawing feeling he's going to be there a lot longer....

I agree...it seems for the past few seasons they spend too much time focusing on people that everyone HATES & nobody wants to see WIN

I know...but not many names yet... on the spoiler thread they said who won something or other next week, and I, and others, were like, who?

ITA! At this point he is the only one who deserves to win. Now if someone steps up and starts playing the game I might change my mind but until then I'm all for Russell!

Re: Russell Hantz - Survivor Samoa

They have spent a great deal of time promoting RH and showing him far more than anyone else. Does anyone remember any other edit where one 'character' was shown as much? I know that coach had a lot of facetime and he didn't make it to the final 2 or 3. Was just wondering if any of the previous winners ever had as much time on camera? I prefer to see even hear Russell and later find out he went far in the game than to find out an "under-the-radar type suddenly dominates the last few shows and wins!! I say show more outwit and outplay rather than dimwit and invisible !!!

Didn't like Coach and sure don't love Russell but at least they are players and add interest to the show!!

I have to disagree... I don't think Russell is playing a good game at all. First off, he's about as subtle as a freight train. Second - and more importantly - no one ever won anything for underestimating his/her enemies. Russell does this constantly. Everyone else in the game is stupid in his opinion. How does he know that one (or more) of the others isn't up to something that's simply being kept from him?

I appreciate where he's coming from, that know one to date has sunk to his level to win the game. Where I think he blew it was by not keeping it all under the radar and by giving himself (and that enormous ego) way too much credit. I'll also never understand the concept of making your own tribe weak before the merge... there's just no logic there.

Based on the interviews apparently he has been very subtle.

He is taking that into consideration more than many other players have. It is why he played the HII.

I don't recall any sabotage beyond the first episode. One of the things I really respect him for as a player is how mentally and physically strong he stayed during that long period of rain. He was trying to keep the tribe going, but he wasn't willing to hand it over to them if they weren't willing to continue to work at camp.

Uhhh, yeh... showing everyone your HII and promising them the world? NOT SUBTLE.

My point exactly. If he's such the "puppetmaster" (his words, not mine) then he'd know exactly what is going on. Instead, he doesn't take into consideration anyone's individual strengths and uses his confessional time to call people names... stupid, idiot, etc. It's rude and unfounded. I truly hope that one of the women that he's so badly insulted outlasts this smug, sexist little jerk.

Agree on all counts! Which is one of the reasons I am surprised he has been so good at this. He reads people very well and he also controls himself well.
