Laura Morett - Survivor Samoa

Laura Morett

Age: 39
Hometown: Salem, Ore.
Occupation: Office Manager

Laura Morett is a 39-year-old Hawaiian mother, wife of 21 years and also a grandmother. Her beauty is complimented by the fact that one of her occupations is fitness instructor, which helps her stay in shape and gives her the energy to keep up with her three kids and two-year-old grandchild. When she is not spending time with her family, working out or riding her Harley, this conservative Christian is running the lobby message center at the Oregon State Capitol building for over 400 lobbyists.

Similar religious and political beliefs, as well as the fact that her daughter had a child at 18, has Laura referring to herself as a, “fit version of Sarah Palin.” Laura enjoys listening to Christian music and is studying women’s ministry. In addition, Laura counsels couples in her church based on her experiences in a long-lasting marriage with a man she describes as her other half.

Determined and competitive, she freely admits that she wants to win SURVIVOR for the money but in doing so claims that she would never do anything to compromise her faith to get it.

Currently, Laura resides in Salem, Ore. and her birthday is July 30th.

When I first read this sentence I completely missed the words "wife" and "years".

I think I may like this one, though.

Fellow Oregonian so I have to root for her a bit, but generally bringing religion into the game is not going to take you far.

Rides a Harley? I like her . But she won't win. Not with her attitude about not compromising her faith. I hope she surprises me and proves me wrong.

I don't understand how not compromising her faith would have any impact.
One should never do anything in life that compromises their faith.
Why have faith if you're not willing to live it.

I hope she wins. Though the odds are against it, unfortunately.

Perhaps I took what she meant the wrong way. What I thought was that she would be unwilling to get her hands dirty in the game (i.e. lying, backstabbing, strategizing complex situations involving playing people against each other because she may find it morally wrong, etc) which can hurt her chances at getting far.

Re: Laura Morett - Survivor Samoa

So her daughter had an out of wedlock child like Sarah's? Laura must have married at 18 herself....

I agree the "not compromising" can put a "real" Christian (not a moralizer, but someone who really tries to live kindly and with forgiveness) in a difficult position in this game. If she can hold off telling people what they "should" do (and how pro Palin she is) she may be ok. The Harley riding implies she has a bit of an unconventional side...and being a Hawaiian fitness instructor...given the Hawaiian gene pool/culture runs to overweight is impressive as well.
Have to say I'm also pro Oregonian and think having a Hawaiian on is cool...

Jeff said:One of his favourites, who JP says could win the game. A lot more to her than meets the eye, and definitely a huge threat if she gets late in the game.
