| Re: Survivor China: Interview with Todd - "I was shocked at how out of it she was." That's a fascinating theory (that straight men might not consider the gay guys as threats) I hadn't considered that. I wonder if at some basic, almost subconscious level, (all intellectualizing aside about how good someone might be at strategy or even at the challenges) they tend to set their sights first on the other straight guys. Some jungle warfare thing - like 2 gorillas squaring off or something. Try as they might, Probst and Burnett have yet to get to a the final 4 with all ass-kicking physical threat males - they always turn on each other (or are eliminated by the skeletal or slight of stature types whose votes bear equal weight) Anyway, my mind's rambling now . try to ignore it ... ![]() |

| Re: Survivor China: Interview with Todd - "I was shocked at how out of it she was." And of course some of the biggest physical threats haven't been physically big...vide Ozzy. I agree, in that I think we (and probably not just the big guys themselves) are programmed to see the big (straight) guys as the big threats. For example, our two immunity holder this season ... everyone kept saying what a threat James was, immunities aside, and he no doubt was helpful on things like slamming a log into a door, but his physical threat never seemed to materialize when it came to individual immuniities. Maybe because the challenges often involved non-brute strength skills, but still, it didn't seem as though he really was that big a threat. Even if he'd made it to that final endurance competition, Amanda might still have won. Hmmm wonder if a big straight guy could pretend to be gay and therefore coast a bit UTR as far as the other guys were concerned? OK, rambling myself. |

I wasn't a fan of Todd's but how can you not respect how he played this game. He was a master at it. Wonder if he'll make the next show? answering my own question.....probably not as he's already won $$$. |
