Normally, I'd agree with you. But I don't think I'm alone here in saying that I get a serious sexist vibe from this chump. He uses expressions like "airhead" and "bimbo" without the slightest hint of sarcasm. I don't think he hates women per se... I do think that he marginalizes all the women players simply because they're women.

Is he doing it intentionally? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that the guy comes off as sexist. I know he's your hero and all, but lots and lots of people of both genders (I'm male, FYI) perceive it that way. I work in Human Resources... this guy is a walking OSHA violation.

Yes, I know... he talks down about everybody. But that's been my point from the start: a better player wouldn't trash-talk the other players to make himself look mighty... and that's exactly what RH does.

Re: Russell Hantz - Survivor Samoa

Russell is threatened by strong women, anyone who questioned him or told him they were not sure if they could trust him were booted quickly. I can't remember her name, she is a cop, but she knew he was lying and pretty much told him so, and she didn't last long.

He has zero respect for women, like some men who think women are only put on this earth to serve their needs. He is sexist, and he actually seems proud of it.

CuckoosNest--thanks for your professional evaluation.

BTW--that's a great line too.

I completely agree--RH is a walking OSHA violation.

ETA--IMO there's nothing "heroic" about this sexist narcissistic mess known as Russell H.

I can't imagine why the producers of the show think we're still interested in anything he has to say.

Re: Russell Hantz - Survivor Samoa

Lest anyone think I "have something" against people from Louisiana--just the opposite is true.

I have travelled to that state numerous times and have met many people who live and work there and I have never come across anyone who is as nasty and sexist as RH.

Everyone I met was at the very least gracious--and often much more.

If I were from Louisiana I'd be sending email to the show criticizing them for glorifying such aberrant and anti-social and downright un-Louisianian type behavior.

Re: Russell Hantz - Survivor Samoa

I can deal with Russell. He's a dime a dozen on reality tv-the button pusher. Do I like him? No. Will I enjoy his ouster and hope that he doesn't win? Surely! Do I see more of him than I'd like to on my screen? Of course, as is the norm with all the villians on reality tv. He isn't, however, ruining the season for me any more than dealing with Coach ruined that season for me. I actually hated Sugar a thousand times more than Russell. At least he's actually playing to win. I would not have minded seeing a little more of Erik before he was done. I think there was a lot of potential for hatred there that went untapped. Still, his blindside was easily the sweetest moment of this season to date.

Erik's clips from Ponderosa are really funny. His ego (and id and alterego) have been permanently damaged, or in permanent denial, LOL.

Sugar was playing such a bizarre, passive-aggressive game. I really detested her after a while. I particularly disliked her lack of effort in any of the physical competitions. I have yet to see RH hold back in any of the competitions. I don't get his interest in sabotaging his tribe (which I only recall from the first episode), but he was the only one standing after the extended deluge.

Umm... hello? Maybe that's because he's one of the only interesting players this season? Would you rather we see Brett and Kelly sitting around camp talking about what kind of underwear they bought before the show or Russell running around and making fake alliances?

I could care less about Russell's character failings. That's his problem. His, and those who have to live with him. I could care less if a sexist pig wins one million dollars. Lots of crappy people have one million dollars. Oink oink for him if he wins. I love to watch people play this game, and Russell has provided me with the best case scenario for viewing. He's unique. Over three hundred people have played this game. I'm glad for all the lunacy Russell has brought to this season. He makes these crazy moves, and it looks like he has sunk his own ship, he's a goner and...wrong again. He's like a scurrying little cockroach that you can't squash. He's like a fungus, he grows on you. Speaking for myself, of course.

Exactly. As a woman myself, does the fact that I may have, in the past, referred to another woman as an airhead, or something much, much worse (conversation with Mr. Rattus the other day about a woman I haven't seen for twenty years but still hate with a passion that makes spittle fly from my mouth) make me a misogynist? Or is it that women, like men, are not identical units and some are airheads (or much, much worse)?

To my eye, though I could be wrong, ShamWow is a woman, but Russell referred to her as good people. So, how does that break down? Does classism (you know the women think she's a dumb hick) supercede sexism? If he had a choice of a hick female or an urban male, would his head explode with the choice?

I'd like to hear them talking--period. so I can judge for myself what kind of players they are--instead of having to take someone else's opinion--IE for example Jeff's--on them.

So far about all we know about Brett is that he has a good bod and that he liked the waterfalls.
