My Trip Through the Past Survivors

Due to my just recently falling in love with Survivor and today's technology I am going back in time and watching past Survivors.

Usually when I'm finishing a season, it seems to be late at night and I can hardly keep my eyes open or at least that's the way it is tonight.

But one thing I wanted to mention was how much more the elements were a part of Survivor in Season 2 than they are today. That truly was Survivor when you have them so hungry they are willing to give up shelter for food and one of them is getting so skinny her hair is falling out.

    Man I loved this season.

And I was tickled to death with who won. I had thought that person had never won.

That's why I've been saying the last few years, the "Survivors" eat better than I do at home watching!!! Too many rewards, too much food and too many comfort items. They've taken the survivor out of it, and made it into a basic social game. imo

Re: My Trip Through the Past Survivors

I just finished Season 4 and as a Christian it made me quite sad how much things have changed since then to now where everyone is so afraid to speak out about their Christian faith anymore for fear of being looked down upon with disgust.

It was a pretty good season overall though they got on my nerves too with all the talk of how they should or should not play.

Despite that, I did love when the underdogs realized after that one comp about the pecking order and if they were going to do anything about it, they better do it now instead of later. I hope there are more seasons like that. I can't recall seeing another season like that yet anyway.

As someone who doesn't care for Rosie O'Donnell anymore, it was a horrible reunion show. However, I loved them all getting a brand new Saturn Vue. Too bad that company is out of business. I had a Saturn once and loved it.

There's only so many times that contestants can say they're a "good Christian", and then turn around and do something deceitful, before it stops carrying any weight. As you go along through the season, you'll see that players become more aware of obvious posturing and jury-appealing, and quash it out as fast as they can.

Re: My Trip Through the Past Survivors

I just finished Season 5. That was rather dull. I think I must have watched it a little when it was on because I remember the couple who got mad at each other about him getting too frisky after she had been flirting up a storm.

I was happy the used car salesman won. He deserved it.

I am getting tired of all of these bitter Bettys. I also don't know why old women like to pick weaklings for their teams.

Yes, the bitter Betty's.. enough already.

Yeah, they always glom onto a young person, to "mother them" or "father" them.

If you're going in order ilja, I think you'll like the next two seasons. They're two of my favorites.

Marquesas was a solid season and had some great characters. I loved seeing Sarah ride into the island like Cleopatra and I loved Neleh, Paschal, and Kathy. Kathy's journey from irritating outsider to likable strategic underdog was epic. I was disappointed with the winner though.

Thailand was okay but the winner was very deserving. And Helen is one of my favorite old-school characters.

Re: My Trip Through the Past Survivors

Wow I didnt know this thread existed Ilja Im so glad you started it! There are still a few seasons left that I have not watched yet seasons 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17, and 21 I have seen the rest. I am almost done season 5 myself I am going to watch the finale tonight. I don't think it was as dull as everyone says though. I loved the location, had a nice twist too, I enjoyed it much better than season 3, that was the most boring season ever Big Tom was just gross. I already saw season 6 and 7 and I agree with awesomekina they are both really good . I am going to start season 8 tomorrow that's an all stars season. I felt it would be appropriate to watch it since the second chance edition is coming up. Big Brother has been such a bummer to watch all i care about is survivor lately its so much more interesting in my opinion.

Re: My Trip Through the Past Survivors

I am blown away by who won Season 6. While it was a great season, I can't believe lazy Jenna won! The girl just laid around all the time and didn't do anything but stick her nose up in the air, acted like she was better than everybody else then cried to get her way. Shoot, I hope this isn't a sign of what's about to happen on Big Brother, the crying part I mean.

Oh no! She got 6 votes! Even Jenna's.
