    Play through the Pain winners

For the viewers in Jackson, MS, we ALL played through the pain last week as Survivor was preempted by local basketball (Ole Miss) on the Jefferson Pilot network. Survivor was tape delayed until 1:35 a.m. (that's like the middle of the night!). Of course I managed to set my alarm and watch the show. I do know how to use a VCR, but I couldn't hold back my anticipatory delight.

I was disappointed by the 'combined' challenge, but I was TOTALLY taken aback when SUE won the weekly (tylenol?) 'Play through the pain' award. Anybody besides me think that was the lamest thing they've ever seen on Survivor?

    Enjoy.

I couldn't believe it either. How exactly have you played through the pain if you quit?

I was a little surprised, especially since the first five winners of that have all been popular male contestants.

Perhaps Sue's tribe should've won for 'playing through Sue's whining'

I'm not familiar with this "play through the pain" thing you're referring to. Is that some local area contest put on by your local network affiliate?

Tylenol is a sponsor for Survivor, so at one of the commercial breaks, they announce the winner of the "Play through the pain" on-line poll they take each week.

Last week, for some unknown reason, people voted for Sue.

Because she was in emotional pain that week, even though she didn't actually "push" through it.

Sue winning is really stupid because she didn't play through the pain. She quit because of the pain. And quitting isn't the same thing as playing.
