Does anyone really think that his book is selling?

I just looked it up on Amazon.com. His brother WROTE the book. Philip just "conceptualized" it. It appears to be a "fictionalized" version of the "real" Philip. (Personally, I don't think there is a "real" Philip - he conceptualized and life and is trying to convince the world that any of it actually happened.)

Ok, I have to admit that I'm curious enough to read the book. I WON'T pay full price, though - I'll get it used or from the library. (If the library stocks it).

From the Amazon.com description of his book .. it is truly delusional...

In fact ... Since the book was published in Feb .. he probably is trying to see how many times he can call himself "The Specialist" so he can promote his book at the final show...

You can get a copy for your Nook for $3.79, Sales rank: 489,657.
Kindle edition is $3.49, Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #113,192 in Books

The reviews are actually pretty good.

I have a couple of friends who have written books that are available through Amazon. It's apparently part of the marketing process that you contact everyone you know via Facebook, Twitter or real life and have them write a good review. I don't hold much stock in them.

For an example of how the reviews don't necessarily reflect the quality of the writing, check out a book by Alyce LaViolette on domestic violence. There are HUNDREDS of negative comments, but hardly any of them are written by people who have actually read the book. It's part of a campaign by those who are appalled by her paid testimony in the Jodi Arias trial.

I read the professional review of "The Specialist," then perused the Dedication, the Foreword, and the first page online. That's enough for me. It reads just like Philip talks. No thanks.

I was just going to say, you don't know how big Philip's family is and how many of them wrote reviews! If there are only a half dozen reviews his family could certainly tip the votes.
A thread hijack---it always surprises me that people get irate that trial experts are paid. Experts have to make a living--if she's going to spend a week on the stand she can't just take off work. In her field if she had to respond for free every time someone supoenaed her expert testimony she wouldn't be able to do the work that makes her an expert. FYI, I've heard that the Arias trial is so poisonous now with all the twitter and facebook attacks that some of the people who were supposed to testify about things the boyfriend did are getting cold feet. Heard an interesting discussion on CNN about whether witness intimidation via the internet should result in the same criminal penalties that a threat of kneecapping from the Mafia would. Even those experts who clearly don't like Arias are upset by how ill LaViolette is looking, presumably from lack of sleep, etc., due to the barrage of threats.
But back to Phillip---the book does do a lot to explain his constant use of the word specialist, which was just getting weird. Thanks for that info---makes him seem less crazy!
