I believe whatever is in their knapsacks is safe but anything in the open is up for grabs. These were clothes drying on a clothesline so probably permissible.
    4. The rice - as much as I understand Zap's reasonings, if they gave some of the rice to the other tribe they may have gotten some good will
Phillip stole rice, doesn't that count? LOL

Sorry, but I know many African Americans called "crazy" and none too it to mean racist or based it on slavery or the like. I can understand that this is a game and they're hungry and tired, but this was too much and given the threats to people's safety, it's was grounds to remove him. 2. Julie should've been ejected for messing with people's personal stuff anyway. I thought this was against the rules. I personally found her antics and attitude toward him just witchy. While I can surmise that being near Phillip is annoying, if anyone had the right to do that it was indeed Steve, not her. 3. Matt is starting to look like a saint and the like - having to suffer and hopefully become blessed and return again. I'm sorry, he seems to be a nice enough guy and I like he's strong in his faith, but if he wins it will be worse than Natalie or Vee's wins in this game. He's been voted out twice and if he returns again and is voted out a third time, he should be out for good. 4. The rice - as much as I understand Zap's reasonings, if they gave some of the rice to the other tribe they may have gotten some good will and gotten Phillip out of this game instead of Julie for at least three more days. And while those pots are not air tight, they still should've been able to protect that rice, so it is Ometepe's fault. I do agree though the bad rice needed to not be mixed in with the good rice. 5. From the sound of things we are going to have a double elim. soon and determine who gets to go into the game one more time in RI. Jeff made it clear that Rob had immunity for at least one more day, so this is most likely the case. Out of the remaining players, simply put Rob should win, but he will not because no one is going to reward a repeat winner. I think that Matt will have the best chance because he's not irked anyone on either tribe - he's spoken honestly and openly and because of good sportsmanship was voted out. By playing this game solo most of the season, Matt is building up a good foundation to make a case should he be in the final three: "I played this game for over 20 days solo. I've won all these challenges, I didn't irritate any of you guys, and played this game with true honor and respect." He may actually win this for those reasons.
1.This is just a guess, but I assumed they can't remove someone just on the possibility that he/she might do something violent, because that would be a really tough call to make. If Phillip had actually thrown a punch, yeah, he would have been out of there. But someone could always claim he/she was just pretending to have the potential for violence as a game-playing tactic and argue that he/she was taken out of the game because the producers were trying to control the contest. I imagine the producers would like to avoid that.

2.Holly wasn't ejected last season for throwing that guy's shoes into the ocean. There have been other times in the past when personal possessions have been destroyed or hidden as well. There probably should be a rule about that, but apparently there isn't.

    3. I've already argued that it looks like the producers are deliberately giving Matt a Job edit, but it could be looked on as a saint edit too. I think it's some late attempt to try and set up a conflict between Rob (evil) and Matt (good), but I don't think it's particularly wise or interesting.

    4. Someone in Ometepe might also have been wise to try to broker some deal with the remaining Zaps about sharing something Ometepe has with them in exchange for their willingness to share their non-contaminated rice. It's likely that the Zapateras are going to dominate the jury (actually, is there any way they won't at this point?), so making yourself look good, or at least reasonable, to them might not be a bad idea at this stage of the game, especially if it means you get something you need as a result. I'm actually sort of surprised Rob didn't make that move, since the rest of them appear incapable of making independent decisions.

    5. I didn't catch that Rob's immunity would carry over onto another TC, but even if it doesn't, he still has an II that, so far as I recall, no one knows about, so he has another week of immunity, should he choose to use it.

Technically, Rob isn't a repeat winner, though he did come in second to Amber, whom he later married, so both first and second place money stayed in the family. However, first time players may not be interested in rewarding someone who's playing for the fourth time either. For that matter, the Zaps might feel as if Rob only managed to succeed in the way that he did because of the tribe that he was on and that he wouldn't have managed to dominate them so well, so his success was based partially on luck. I have no idea if that is true or not--nor would they--but I can see where they might feel that way and choose not to vote for him. Or they could just decide they don't like him or find someone else more sympathetic or whatever. You can never predict how a jury's going to vote. Matt could also win just because the Zaps prefer someone who at least considered, however briefly, breaking away from the cult of Rob than someone who didn't (or Rob himself). And, as you pointed out, he wasn't around long enough to annoy most of the jury, and he could argue that he did play one aspect of the game exceedingly well. Or he could, I suppose, make a move once he got back into the game (if he gets back into the game) that would make him seem like a better game player than he has been so far.

But everything at this point is just speculation. We don't know who's going to the final three or who's on the jury or what's going to happen in the meantime. Heck, Rob, if he makes it to the final, is going to have to burn some Ometepes to get there, and with the possible exception of Andrea, I think they all believe they have reason to think he's taking them with him to the final. Even throwing out Andrea, that still means he's going to have to burn two more of his alliance and who knows how they'd handle that?

Im not buying for one second, the notion that Rob will most certainly win this thing.
His tribe has needed him up til now. He knows that, and he also knows that once the other tribe is cannibalized, everyone is on their own, and he'll be the first target.
Im a huge Rob fan. But, I would be shocked if he even makes it to the final, even with his immunity idol(he's gotta have insight as to when to play it, which isnt always easy). I hope he does tho.

I think the assumption that Rob will win this thing is based on the assumption that he will make it to the final and make it there with the right people in tow and without seriously irritating anyone on the jury, at least not enough for them to bloc vote against him. But, as you point out, that's a lot of assumptions, and there's just no way to tell yet if he'll be able to do all of that.

IIRC, the moisture and mold got into the Om's rice container because it rusted through on the bottom. That's their own fault for leaving it sit in damp sand. They know perfectly well their environment on the beach is very damp! They should have kept that container under the tarp.

Oh, and here's Phillip's LinkedIn page: Phillip Sheppard | LinkedIn

He was in the army for 4 years (rank Specialist 4) and then worked for the "Defence Investigative Service DIS" (misspelling his, not mine) for 3 years. He's worked for various software companies in the 20 years since.

IMO his behavior indicates some sort of mental/emotional issue going beyond simply being socially inept and I hope he seeks some counseling.

Agree that Julie shouldn't have taken his shorts -- I think contestants should be forbidden to mess with the personal items of anyone else! I can understand wanting to mess with Phillip in retaliation, but there are many other ways they could do that without resorting to theft.

Sorry, but what's the spelling error? I'm not seeing one.

I think we can be assured of this at least. Even if they wanted to continue RI and put a total of 3 players back into the game, unless they are going to insert the last one directly into the final 3, they'll run out of time. Assuming Matt wins all the duels again (which is becoming more likely IMO), if he returns and immediately gets voted out, he's gone for good. However, I am starting to suspect he will be recruited by whichever of the Omes suspect they are on the outs with the core alliance to join a counter-alliance (obviously not the one with Rob in it, so at least Matt won't be confused about what to do this time), and he very well may, by combining his innocuousness with a few IC wins, make it all the way to the F3. The editors are getting so blatant with the "hand of God" edit, that I'm starting to believe it must indicate that Matt somehow accidently wins the whole thing. See, his cluelessness actually works in his favor, the meek shall inherit the earth, and good triumphs over evil. Blech.

I think Defense would have an "S" in that name? American spelling.
