That alliance thing was partly a case of a good edit because he was the biggest character and the winner. Sue and Kelly had already discussed forming an alliance before he approached them. Hatch is an amazing player and my favorite of all time but he can't be given sole credit for the alliance strategy.

I for one find nothing creepy about Russel...yeah, he is short, yeah, he hasnt got the body of Superman, however none of that makes him creepy. The man plays one bad*ss game of Survivor, if that is creepy than he is the creepiest of all.
Actually he's lost a lot of weight on two straight seasons of the Survivor diet... his body isn't bad at all... too short for my tastes, but now pretty muscular. Rupert looks better than he used to as well.

That's exactly what I was going to say. His eyes are really beautiful, and I don't think he's an ugly guy at all. But remembering those horrible saggy grey undies he ran around in last season, uuuugggghhhhh.

I have never noticed Russell's eyes before, because I can't see past his HUGE EGO.

I believe that the saying goes "Pretty is as pretty does". His actions tell another story - nothing pretty there.

Actually...in an interview Coach has revealed that Russell had agreed to work with him and Rob as a team but it was Rob who refused to work together and was hell bent on getting rid of Russell. So it was actually Rob's massive ego that caused problems.

Similar situation to Laura versus Russell in 19. Russell tried to work with her but she flat out refused. Joke's on them I guess.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Rob also said that Russell did approach him about an alliance early on - which Rob was considering at first. However, Rob had never seen Russell compete in a previous season and knew absolutely nothing about Russell. Rob said that he saw Russell scrambling around trying to make alliances with everyone else and soon came to the conclusion that he could not trust him. I believe that that is the real reason Rob wanted him gone.

Rob was absolutely correct about Russell. Russell only wants people in his alliance that he can intimidate into doing things his way. You saw how angry Russell got when Danielle dared to question him about voting out Coach.

I am hoping that Parvati and Danielle are just using Russell to get further in the game and will eventually get rid of him - I can not stand him. It would be interesting to see Russell as part of the jury and see who would get his vote for the million dollars.

The exact same thing can be said about Rob. Also interesting to notice how people let his sexist comments slide (his comments about going head to head with Candice) but crucify Russell for his.

No doubt in my mind that he would vote for the Survivor who played the BEST game regardless of his or her strategy. He seems pretty straight up to me!

Ok. Perhaps not give Hatch sole credit for the alliance thing.
However, he was brilliant to strike the alliance with Rudy. He knew that Rudy, being an older military man, would be a man of his word when playing the game. He also really didn't alienate himself from others.
Russell may play well but he does alienate. And that forces him to lose votes like he did last season.
I also think Russell is too into playing a "character" on Survivor. Lots of people say that Rupert and some of the heroes do. But, I think Russell is the one most playing to the camera.

Perhaps, but he's also shown he has a HUGE vindictive side. Anyone who even hints at going for him is his enemy and he won't rest until they are gone. If someone like Parvati blindsided him he could either reward her for getting the better of him OR vow to punish her by giving his vote to whoever she is up against. I just don't know which way he would vote in a situation like that!
