I thought Russell got a much better edit this episode. While still cocky, he was shown to be smart ( no exile island so HII must be in camp) and talked politely and rationally to Jaison ( I'm not a racist)

Seems like a winning strategy, even if it disgusts us.

Then again, Ben is disgusting too. But with the addition of "stupid" added on.

And of course there's Yasmine. Who may not be "ghetto" like Disgusting Ben said, but certainly IS one of the stupidest people to ever appear on this show.

Not luck, he didn't fall over it. He was searching for while others sat around.

No kidding. Hopefully his tribe puts the target on his butt.

Yeah. I don't get the "luck" notion. He deduced that the idol has to be in camp. That's part 1. He deduced where it most likely would be. That's part 2. He found it without tipping off the others (well, at least until he voluntarily told one of them). That's part 3. None of that was luck.

He may regret leaking that acquisition, if that causes a gang up on him. Or as it sometimes has in previous seasons, it could work FOR him if they suspect, or know, he has it. Sometimes the fear of it works just as well as actually using it.

But cheer up people. If he's REALLY that unduly arrogant, he won't believe people will vote for him, he WON'T use the Idol (believing nobody would DARE vote for him) and then he'd be gone. Easy peasy, right?

watched the TV guide preview--Probst says the tribes can only use the HII from the other camp--I not sure russell can use this--but does his tribe know that?

I still say luck because it was pretty well hidden and I don't remember them being told there would be an HII...just a wild guess on his part

You might say his search pattern was lucky, if you think he didn't look in that tree for any specific reason, but the suspicion that the Idol had to be in camp? If he suspected it, then THAT part at least is not luck.

Of course if he can't USE it, that could backfire on him rather badly. Assuming he can't just use the fear of it to further his own game.
