What in the world does "public-like-a-frog" mean?

I think it's from this Emily Dickinson poem, but I have absolutely no idea how it belongs here (no, don't bother explaining, I prefer not to know).

    I'm nobody, who are you?
    Are you nobody too?
    There's a pair of us, don't tell!
    They'd banish us, you know!

    How dreary to be somebody!
    How public like a frog,
To tell your name the livelong day
    To an admiring bog!

I'm too scared of you, John...

I don't see how it fits into the discussion here, though, but that's just me...

It's a fairly famous ED poem...But relevance seems to be lacking today.

Oh, I've heard of the poem, but like you said, I don't see its relevance to the discussion at hand...

LOL, Lobeck and John. Did you lose yourselves forever to Sophmore English and get caught up in Deconstruction? Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, you know. Anyway, I answered your question, Lobeck. Alex and Matthew would be my guess for this season's out and about "gays"-- if "gay" is one of the archetypal roll call personas of the Survivor mix/equation. Of course, we'll have to hear it from his/their lips to know. By all means, skip the "public-like-a-frog", but if you're going to parse, please note that "public-like-a-frog" isn't "public like a frog" for Chris' sakes.

I have a headache, I can't tell if it's from trying to get past the first sentence of the above post, or from repeatedly banging my head against the wall.

Fluff, that's it, no more "funny articles" for you, some people take them way too seriously.

On a more private note, when any fellow over the age of 16 serially, public-like-a-frog professs his love of women, well, don't drop your soap in the shower, eh? Apply this proviso to any of the remaining players, as you will.
Umm, OK. You truly bring a unique view to this board Tuluminous. It wouldn't be the same without you.
