It has been a while since an episode of Survivor has polarized me as much as this one. I can't believe I had so many people to actively dislike. I hope the ladies can get their acts together because I want to see disaster after disaster this season preferably on both sides.

I agree. I'm shocked at how many of these people I dislike right from the get-go. Mostly on the men's side, but that loud-mouthed woman was bugging big time. The girls need to get their crap together and get a grip. You don't have to be BFF's but you have to work together or you will all go home.

Felt terrible for Courtney going home that way, after such a short time. She was so cute too, I think she would have been my favourite girl. *sigh*

I hate the young guy group, especially the lawyer and the dude who stole the girl's stuff.

I had to side with Kim in Tribal against Alicia. Alicia seems to have appointed herself "leader of all" and has zero group skills (from this episode anyway). Kim did what no one else had been able to do, get fire in trade for some work on their part. Perhaps it wasn't a group decision, but at least she got something accomplished, opened a dialog with the guys. However, Kim yelling "shut up!" to Alicia WAS justified, it wasn't wise...we'll have to see how it shakes out with the group. I hope Alicia is the first go to in the girl group and that Colton is the first to go in the guy group (which is unlikely since he was given an HII). They both annoy the crap out of me.

Well, I must say this was a very good first episode and hope it bodes well for the rest of the season. I only hope that they don't merge the tribes too quickly because the men vs. women could play out very successfully based on what I saw thus far.

I haven't seen any male that impresses me thus far...but we only really got to see the frat brothers at work. Jonas, the sushi chef and Leif the phlobotonist may have possibilities, along with one of the frat boys, Bill the comedian...but I will need to see how the next episode plays out.

Does Colton remind anyone else of Cochran from last season?

The ladies seem more promising to me so far. Of them, I like Sabrina the high school teacher. She kept her head during the bust up at tribal and seems to be thinking clearly but, it is very early on. The other one that I really liked was Chelsea the medical sales rep. I may be biased as I have her in our Survivor pool at work, but that girl caught those two chickens in a flash and she stayed out of trouble during the tribal. Kimberly the bridal shop owner may also have possibilities. Too bad about Kourtney as I think it would have been interesting to watch her in with the other women.

Hope they can keep up the excitement for the rest of the season because based on the first episode, it could be one of the best.

Alicia is a b*tch who, unfortunately, won't be able to play nice or at least pretend to. No finesse with that girl, she's all in your face. She's completely clueless about this game. I thought Probst's eyes were going to bug out when all three of the girls were screeching over top of each other.

One of the older women needs to step in and take control, smarten the group up, and get them working together.

Figures the two guys I dislike the most are an attorney and a banker.

I kind of liked the sushi chef. Didn't care at all for Tarzan or Troyzan or their stupid names.

No, I don't get that. Cochran was weak, but he was smart and played up his weakness to not be deemed a threat. Colton is just too flaming and seems not so much "weak" as lazy. He just wanted to flirt and bond with the girls.

I regret he was given (didn't even get it himself) the HII. He'll probably survive another week. Too bad.

I think you mean Christina...she was the one that brokered the trade and yelled at Alicia at tribal council.
Kim is the tall, lanky, dirty blonde bridal shop owner and she seemed to stay out of the line of fire during tribal.

You're right...it is never wise to get on the wrong side of a team mate so early on, whether it was justified or not.

I have the feeling that the women have the brains this season, but unfortunately, I have never seen a successful all female alliance on Survivor. Women can get so catty with one another. Even the one season where it was all women and one guy at the end, the guy won and he should have been kicked off at the first tribal because he caused his team to lose the challenge because he took about half an hour to get across the balance beam.

Yeah, what are the odds that you would have some dude who calls himself Tarzan and another one who wants to be known as Troyzan on the same show? You just know that Probst is going to call them out about that!

You are SO right! I keep having brain farts regarding those two, mixing them up - just excuse the middle-aged lady confusing her "K" sounds
