    Phillip Sheppard - Redemption Island

    Name (Age): Phillip Sheppard (52)
    Tribe Designation: Ometepe
    Current Residence: Santa Monica, Calif.
    Occupation: Technology Executive
Personal Claim to Fame: Being a father to my son and being able to take risks in life. I say "yes" when others may say "no."
Inspiration in Life: Medical Professionals - they save lives in real time.
Hobbies: Chess, basketball, skating and sport training with weights.
Pet Peeves: People who think they know everything and yet do nothing and watch others do the work.
3 Words to Describe You: Outgoing, articulate and determined.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: I am my own man!
Reason for being on SURVIVOR: I love the idea of competing and proving I still have what it takes to prevail in new challenges that are completely outside my normal everyday life.
Why you think you'll "survive" SURVIVOR: I come from a large family (12 brothers and sisters), and as such I've become a creative problem-solver and good talker in stressful situations where others would give up.
Why you think you will be the sole SURVIVOR: I am a go-getter. As a former Special Agent with the former Defense Investigation Services, I honed my interview and investigative skills to persevere when others are being evasive or less than forthcoming.

12 brothers and sisters? He should be able to deal with being in a tribe fairly well.

On a side note, it seems like there are lots of older (30s and up) I like that. It gets boring when it is nothing but young punks with the token older player.

I have a bad feeling this guy will be an early-mid boot, though he seems like he could bring a dimension to the game with his Defense Investigation Services background. If he tells anyone about that though, he's history.

I think it will make him one of the more interesting players to watch.

His profile is diverse and interesting. It indicates a lot of skills that could be helpful in a Survivor game.

I am still from last night's tribal council. The best TC I can remember in Survivor history--for me at least.
I could not understand why the subtitle of Former Special Agent with a ? next to it came up. The ? had me until I did a little exploring.
From what I was able to come up with Phillip was a Specialist 4 in the Army for 4 yrs and then discharged.
From 1986-1989 (3 yrs), he worked with the Defense Security Service (DSS).
From 1989 to present he has been working in various roles with different software companies in ITS.

I guess my favorite line of his describing his specialties: "Getting to YES win no appears to be the answer. The Closer..."
He sees himself as a male Brenda Leigh Johnson?
So I guess this explains the "?" under his name.

    Truth is stranger than fiction.

A dr. asked me: Does anyone in your family suffer from mental illness? My answer: No they all enjoy it immensely.

    Dear Phillip,

Regardless of how Survivor 22 plays out, you're earned a spot in Survivor history. You single-handedly created and won the Most Outrageous First Tribal Council Award!

While I don't expect to see you make the merge, please be assured we'll never forget you. Nope, never.

You made Francesca's eyes spin like this --->

He is definitely not how I thought he was going to be - what a nut! Outing your alliance, the idol, everything during your first tribal. He's a loose cannon, but he sure made that first show fun to watch.

Instead of likening himself to being a "closer" maybe he should liken himself to putting clothes on.
