    Jeff on the radio 4/11

On Deena: "Was she overconfident? Yeah . . . its hard . . . you know, she was in control, but she got in too deep with Heidi. THAT'S the thing right there – the Jenna/Heidi bond is what people should watch out for.”

On Rob: "Yeah, he is really playing strong right now. He has a masterful way of being right in the thick of things, but staying just below the level where all the decisions seem to be made. He is such a good storyteller, and he absolutely feels he’s in control."

"Sometimes I have to try to . . . . a couple of weeks ago I said something to him about his comment about the Bushmaster being a porn star, because, you know, I’m playing my own game out there. I mean, Rob always wanted my approval –(affects a Rob voice) ‘Well, you know Probst, Heidi wants to go back and get her raincoat, but the rules state that once you arrive at a challenge, you have to compete with what you brought.’ He knows the game so well, and he is so in tune with what’s going on.

On Mateo: "Yes, he is absolutely clueless out there – at least in the social game of Survivor. But you know . . . when he became and underdog for me was back in week two, when he started talking to Daniel in Mandarin. That was a nice gesture, with no subtext, and reveals the kind of person Matt really is.”

"Did he throw the reward challenge? That’s hard to say. You know, in Australia, Colby was on a long truck ride to a reward and he said to me, ‘Probst, I think I need to throw a challenge’, and I said to him, ‘I can’t help you there, brother.’ The problem is that at this point in the game, everyone is afraid to give someone else an opportunity to take them down. Matt could dominate, but he just does not get that."

"Watching Rob manipulate Matt really shows how clueless he is, but at least Matt is honest. Rob is not giving him all the secrets.”

On Flying Under the Radar: "Is playing an under the radar-type game a good strategy? Well, that depends on how you look at it. I mean Alex is athletic and outspoken and lays it all out there for everyone to see, and he is doing fairly well. Rob, on the other hand, is just right there below the surface. He influences every decision without appearing to be the one driving the boat – he has a hand in everything that’s going on."

"Butch – now there’s an under the radar guy! Butch is a kind of a 'dote-de-doh, here we go' fellow who is on no one’s list, but he is also the kind of guy that can sneak up on you, and before you know it, you’re seen as a threat."

Well, that’s all for this week, kiddos. I tried to sneak in a question about the Jacare 4 at Club Med and how the scenario parallels the Rotu 4, but my buddy didn’t have time to work it in. In general, though, Jeff was really gushing about Rob’s game, sounded sort of, um, melancholy about Matt (I wonder why – setup, perhaps?), and encouraged us to watch out for Heidi and Jenna’s alliance.

Cool stuff, MollyRose! Thanks so much!
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

crap. That really doesn't sound good.

Heidi and Jenna? Could you imagine if they were the final two?

Yes Cali....I can. In fact, I think that was the nightmare I had last night.

I'm not sure I could watch the final show if it came to that....

Look on the bright side, stepscot. You wouldn't know until you were halfway in.

    Good point
And I could enjoy the first part of the show coming up with the scenario that would exclude at least one of them and make the final more palatable....
