    Fire Speculation

I wasn't sure if this belonged in another thread, but I know that some people even want to avoid speculation, so I thought it might be safer to just put it in it's own thread and the mods can move it if they want to.

Jeff Probst was on one of the CBS affiliates last night and was discussing a few of the minor points of last night's episode. The anchor then asked him how the tribes are going to get fire. I'm doing this by memory, so forgive me a wrong word or two, but the gist was that they would have to
    1)Build a Fire
    2)Earn the Fire or
3)Trade something of value for the fire

Now 1 and 3 are self-explanatory, but I thought #2 was interesting. Do you all think it was just a weird word choice on his part or will they have to complete a task of some sort? We know that they aren't earning it through the challenges, so it would have to be something else.

#2 Sounds like it could be a reward in an RC .

#3 puzzles me more actually since they relly don't have anything of "value".

They used to get fire just by going to TC,I see that more than one thing might have been changed for this special competition!

I can not remember which tribe had bananas. Was it the tribe that did not have fire? They could trade bananas for fire.

i believe that the sabogo tribe had thrown the ic to attempt to get fire from their torches after tc. the look on both jenna l. and ruperts faces showed how shocked they were when jp said "since you dont have fire yet, you cant take back the lighted torches to camp.

    - throw ic and look like total imbeciles on national tv - humiliating
    - sacrifice tribe member to tc - $1,000,000
    - being told cant have lighted torches - priceless

Tina explained that they had tried several methods to start the fire, including using someone's glasses, but that the wood was too soft.

I think that Rudy should have stuck with his string method.

Maybe trading one of there members for fire?

#2 does sound like a reward from a challenge. They've offered water and sleeping supplies before, why not fire?
