Thanks for your well wishes! The pools are definitely fun for me, not stressful. I just hate it when work interferes with my fun!

I got bored with mailing out letters and took a break to work on pool scores. Now I'm ready to tackle the rest of the letters. I hope I can get them finished today so I don't have to deal with them on Monday. TGIF!!

Carmoaning tribe is actually practicing Stealth R Us, sneaking through the tall grass to blindside the gorilla. We're a tad disorganized at the moment, but hope to get it together so we can stampede that big ole' hairy beast back into the forest where he belongs.

The Natural Blues lost Hope last week and put in their second ceremonial tribe member, Corinne.

The island was pretty quiet this week, with the exception of one skirmish between Curare Bowhunters and Caramoan Schmaramoan. The Bowhunters attacked Caramoan Schmaramoan at dawn, shooting poison darts into their camp. They managed to get Schmaramoan to retreat and Curare Bowhunters moved in next to JLuv’s Jokers. Caramoan Schmaramoan went to a local witch doctor to get treatment for their wounds. We’ll see next week if they take revenge and reclaim their position or if they fall further behind.

Team Maybs once again got the highest weekly score! Their reward is a cooking demonstration and how-to camp improvement advice from a local bushman.

I took the local witchdoctor to his local and bought him a pint. He taught me some tricks to use in the later stages of the race, so watch out.

The flying fox sheds a tear for its fallen comrade Shamu. Stealth R US CEO's is calling up Sherri from the bench.

Droppa's hippo is lagging behind, but Droppa Mapantz has faith in his ability to come on strong at the end. Like the tortoise, he starts to sing, "It's not where you start, it's where you finish...."

Meanwhile, Droppa congratulates the teams who have started strong on their performance and wishes them well.

Pool Results
Episode 5

Last week, Shamar was medically evacuated from the game and Laura was voted out. Nobody had Laura on their pool tribe. One tribe, Stealth R Us, had Shamar so they brought in their first reserve member, Michael.

This was a very strange week for scoring the pool. First, I had to decide how to score Brandon’s exit. Should it count as being voted out or quitting? I decided to score it as him quitting based on Wikipedia’s description of the episode.

On the night of day 10, Brandon told his tribe that he was volunteering to be voted out because he felt he was being selfish for leaving his family at home without him. He told the tribe that he considered sabotaging the camp as a way to get them to vote him out, but instead decided to tell them upfront to vote him out.

Ultimately, it didn’t matter how I scored his outing because no one had Brandon on their pool team, not even as a reserve player.

The other strange factor was that because one tribe one reward and one tribe won immunity, every castaway earned the same amount of points this week. Which means that every pool team got the same score!

This week the pool tribes celebrated Jeff Probst Adoration Day, a popular Caramoan holiday, by declaring a cease-fire and gathering for a feast.

Team Maybs hosted the event and invited the other tribes to their camp for warty pig roasted on a spit. Their spirit guide, the gorilla, doesn’t eat meat but the warriors of this tribe need protein to stay strong.

Caramoaning brought wild hens tied to a pole by their feet as their contribution for the feast.

Mike Hawk’s Protection Plan offering was a huge basket of fish, freshly caught.

Stealth R Us, Inc. tackled a water buffalo and carved it up into steaks as their part of the meal.

Brenda’s Benchwarmers used some of the meat from the other tribes to make sausage, mixing special blends of herbs and spicy to make mild sausage and hot sausage.

Burning Love brought a selection of wines created by their tribe. They picked the fruit themselves, let it ferment, and bottled it for use in their tribal ceremonies.

Pating provided seafood appetizers of shrimp, scallops, and oysters.

The Fighting Felines brought an assortment of cheese made from goat and buffalo milk.

Tigreng Warriors contributed their favorite meat, venison, for the meal. They had it dried into strips so they could preserve it and carry it with them.

JLuv’s Jokers made bread baked in a pan on the fire. They’re well-known among the other tribes for their jalapeno corn breadsticks!

Curare Bowhunters provided cherries, pineapple, bananas, strawberries, and other seasonal fruits on skewers.

Caramoan Schmaramoan brought corn on the cob, tomatoes, bell pepper, and other vegetables, along with their secret recipe of Schmaramoan dip.

Droppa Mapantz scoured the forest for an assortment of tasty mushrooms to add to the feast.

Retired Racers harvested lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, and carrots from their garden for a salad.

The Natural Blues brought several condiments that they traded animal hides for at the Caramoan trading post. They had ketchup, mustard, horseradish, salsa and many other sauces to accentuate the food at the feast.
