I was only able to watch up until Malcolm's ouster last night, so finally watched the FTC and reunion, etc, tonight. I was satisfied with the end, I guess. I found myself still rooting for Denise and liked the fact that she owned her gameplay and basically told them all "I outlasted all of you, so there" - and it worked. They voted for her. I was kind of surprised at Penner calling her a b**** - that seemed unnecessary and uncalled for, but then again his whole FTC speech was kind of disjointed and rambling. Artis surprised me too, at how bitter he was. I didn't really get that sense from him before that. Malcolm too, surprised me but then again he was the most recent vote off and came so close, he was really disappointed and angry. I get that. It was easier perhaps for people like RC and Jeff K to be more gracious, they had more time to get used to the idea of not being in the end.
Abi, of course, made it all about herself
I really found myself enjoying Lisa's comments at the reunion, about religion, about herself, etc. I had my issues with her storyline throughout the show but I really think she was sincere, and watching her reunion again with her brother, you can see the genuine emotion, and while it was uncomfortable to watch in some respects, it was also fascinating because you didn't see anything other than sincerity. So while I was hoping Malcolm would take the fan fave prize, I was also happy she won it. I thought Penner outing her was really kind of funny and crappy and perfect and mean all at the same time. Trust Penner to achieve that.
All in all a good season, and the big smooch on Jeff P at the reunion had my girls and I howling. It was fun, and even more fun because there was (that I noticed) no Russell in the audience for Jeff P to talk to.
Well done, show! I enjoyed it all.And grungy or cleaned up, Malcolm is so
