phillip went off on the tall dude (on the other tribe) about rice, turned it into a racial thing, and no-one could handle him. even Rob is talking about losing him

Okay, first Phillip needs to remember that the first person in the game who referred to him as crazy was Francesca, the only other African-American in the game.

Second, even Andrea felt that after Phillip dumped the rice onto the blanket, he contaminated it with a lot of other substances, so if he pours it back into the good rice, it's possibly going to contaminate all the rest of the rice in the remaining container, which isn't good for anybody left in the game, regardless of what tribe they came from originally. So, really, his contention that it was okay to do that was kind of crazy.

Third, why should the remaining Zapateras want to help out the Ometepes and how is their lack of interest in doing so any different than any of the isolating tactics the Ometepes have been using against the Zapateras? I wish someone would have said, "Look, the last time we offered to share food with you--the fish--you refused it. But now you decide we have to share the food you want us to share with you? Huh?"
