LOL, and feed someone who is going home in hours! Keep the chickens for when you need one. When you are truly starving and then, for heaven's sake, eat the rooster first!

Being a big city girl, I'm fasinated with all the rooster - chicken/hen talk.

I too thought the rooster was necessary in order for the hen/chicken to lay eggs. I just assumed the roosters whole purpose in life was to "do it" with the hens/chickens all day, everyday. Now is seems they aren't even necessary.

Oh well, this board has been a education. However, I still don't know whether the chicken or the egg came first.
