Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
While I totally agree that Chase made a HUGE mistake in taking Jane on reward, to say that he "can't think in any position" or that he is "too stupid to vote for" is a huge overstatement. Naive, sure...quick to make decisions, yes...stupid, definitely not. If he didn't realize he was wrong in some of the decisions he has made I would stick with the "stupid" comment, but he knows when he has done wrong. It'll be interesting to see if he corrects his decisions like he says he needs to.

However, I wonder if he just wasnt thinking at the moment and the gentleman in him said that the women needed the reward worse than the men did? I think he should have gone back to camp with that as his talking point. Something to the effect of..."I took the older women on the reward because I thought all of the guys would have done the same thing". Thinking on ones feet is important in this game, Chase cant think in any position.
Oh, his poor future wife.

If you think about the conversation Chase had with Stash that if he (Chase) won the challange the first person he would take would be Holly and the next challange he won he would take Stash. That leaves room for interperatation, and I don't think Chase really thought it through until after.
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
At least Chase wasn't willing to swear to Sash on the life of his Mother or on the memory of his dead Father. But, I do agree that Chase has been all over the place with his decision making. I think that a large part of his "stategy" is trying NOT TO LIE to people, but he is beginning to realize that it is not possible to make it through the game of Survivor without having to lie at some point in time.
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
Yay. My favorite this season :)
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
Chase does not deserve to win and he does not deserve to win the $100K either. The guy just proved to everyone that he's nothing more than a bonafide moron.
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
It reminds me what Shannon said Chase has no balls. It painful to watch when Jeff asked him if Dan or Fabio is the next, he didn't have guts to answer the question but kept dodging. He came off this honest and nice guy with good looking appearance of his but under the pretty skin, there is nothing thrustworthy. He is neither a schemer who embraces the whole lying, backstabbing gameplay nor a real honest guy that everyone looks up to. His chance of winning is scarce.
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
[mod edit] I do agree that Chase is not a "schemer who embraces the whole lying, backstabbing gameplay" and he has not been a trustworthy ally in the GAME OF SURVIVOR ... but it'a a GAME that he is playing. [mod edit] I actually suspect that Chase is not a good liar in real life, that he gives it away with his facial expressions - like a deer in headlights.
I think that Chase probably entered the game thinking that he would not have to lie to others and that he would play the game with a high amount of integrity. But it is pretty hard to avoid that pitfall if you want to make it to the end. I think that this has played heavily in his indecision and flip flopping - how to play the game and still maintain his integrity. How many winners can you name who have been able to do just that? They all had to lie to someone along the line in order to make it to the FTC.
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
I don't understand Chase at all. This makes twice he's lied to people and told them he was definitely taking them on a reward, and then didn't. Why break a promise he didn't have to make at all? Lying in this game is one thing, but to lie about stupid stuff is not even good game-play, and in fact it seems to me it's bad game-play.
Re: Chase Rice - Nicaragua (La Flor)
He continues to prove to me that he is too dumb to think about consequences of his actions. His display at the last TC was scringe-worthy
