Hmmmmm, I can't see any glasses on Matt.
I think Butch's are just his general specs that he wears.

I don't recall safety glasses being issued when nthey have done similar challenges in the past.
Perhaps Butch refused to play until they had been though.

I enlarged it, and I don't think they are glasses. There is nothing across the bridge of his nose. It does look like it in the smaller photo though.

It looks like it's just a peice of rope kinda frayed off in a circular shape. :

Or it could be glasses, though it only looks like he has one lens. I could be one of those kind of glasses that rich people wear, the ones with the only one lens and the chain on it, like the rich "Monolopy Guy" on Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Maybe his affluent up-bringing is coming out again.

I took the liberty of enlarging and enchancing the video still using my Apple IIe. I also removed the background and vegetation using MousePaint and can conclusively say they are safety glasses:
