Jeff Probst - Host

I love Jeff, and I'm glad he is still the host. :D

Congrats to Jeff! :yay I won't say it wasn't well earned. But I was little :pissedoff Phil Keoghan wasn't nominated (doesn't 6 Emmy wins for reality show mean anything?) But Probst is better than Seacrest. It has to be something for Idol to be the top rated show on TV, yet they haven't won an Emmy for best reality show (or whatever that category is) and now best reality show host.

I also thought Phil Keoghan belonged in that group of 5 much more than Howie Mandel, but since he wasn't nominated, then Jeff Probst was definitely the right choice IMO.

This is why Jeff can't be replaced on Survivor.

Absolutely :yeahthat I think that the show would completely fizzle out if they switched hosts. Maybe go 1 or 2 seasons...Unless Phil was the host...maybe

I saw a profile of Jeff on the TV Guide Channel, and it turns out that he and Phil were both up for the job - he got Survivor and Phil got Amazing Race.

The funny thing that he said was that he claimed never to "give anything away" on the show, that he would ask questions of the contestants, and encourage them, but he would never give up information. I was thinking, "Really, Jeff, so you really don't think your leading questions give anything away?" Unless he asks a thousand questions that are edited out, his questions at tribal council are so revealing if only the players are smart enough to figure it out. He even seems to enjoy it and gets that cat-playing-with-a-mouse glint in his eye (a la Heidi Klum) whenever he is asking a player how confident they are, when they think they are safe but are actually minutes away from being voted out.

though i wish he could replace julie chen on big brother ... that show needs a host that isn't afraid to ask some serious questions.

Jeff on BB? No way.

It's an unpopular opinion around here, but I love Julie. :biglove I think she suits the show, and it would be totally different without her.
