1/26 Show Discussion Thread Did anyone watch the show tonight? I saw it on the schedule, but I got home from work late and decided to cook dinner instead of watching. I was just curious who won?

Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread Team USA won the overall title, they also won the group title. Russia won the solo title, and Argentina the duets title.

Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread And here Nigel was worried allowing viewers to vote would cause bias for the USA.

Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread I loved the opening number with Ireland saluting the USA! This show will not see another season and thank you universe, for Tivo.

Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread I tried to watch the show again tonight knowing it was the last night. But as much as I love dance only a few moments of the crazed camera work convinced me to go back to "The Batchelor." IMO the constant changing camera angles and movement ruined the show. A tv director friend of mine thinks the director must be drunk--or unconscious...... And as much as I like Michael Flatly,i after a few minutes his voice gets downright creepy. And I like Irsh accents too.... Just not my show I guess.

Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread TiVo'd it, then watched the 15 minutes of actual dancing. I finally figured out what bugged me the most about this show... it was the lighting. Looked a little closer this morning, and it seemed the lights were hung much lower than you'd expect in a studio. They couldn't help but interfere with getting a good pan shot, and seemed to cause a lot of "blinding" when the cameras moved even slightly. So, I'm blaming the lighting director and not the camera crew or main director. Nigel, get a taller studio and hire a competent lighting crew!

| Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread The opening number was a taped retread from one of Flateley's old shows. Not to say it wasn't fun to watch, but it was from about 20 years ago.

Re: 1/26 Show Discussion Thread Did it come off as if it were planned for the USA to win the whole time? I saw a commercial sometime over that last week that said something like "Can the USA make a comeback and win the competition!?" It just seemed a little too convenient...
