Yikes! I can't even stand to watch the first few episodes of AI each season when they show clips of all the scary people who didn't make the cut. Making the torture last an entire hour would send me screaming from the room. No thanks.

This show i think is just purely for laughter. You can say ratings although ALL shows are about ratings.

But they do not care if you get humiliated.
i will for sure watch this show. I can't wait until they find out information.
The funny thing is the show is called "SuperStar USA" which is nothing like "playing it straight" you know what i mean? like with Playing it Straight at first they don't even know the real title. This one you can't tell by the title.
    Just some useful/useless thoughts.

Just saw the commercial for it, this could easily be the best reality ever.

I couldn't stop laughing just from the preview

Well, this is either going to be really good or really bad... or it could just make my ears bleed. That said, I'm going to watch it. I'm a glutton for punishment

This is just wrong...and mean....and for people to be drawn into this public-humiliation fest ----are we really that hard up for good comedy on TV, feeling that bad about ourselves that we would watch this crap just to see other people put down?
What is WRONG with these people?????

Um I kinda see it as people being so desperate for their 15 minutes of fame that they'll go on ANY show for a chance to "make it" or just be seen, whether they know it's a joke or they find out later. I mean think about the crap people appear on now where they're just going to come out looking like a total jerk to the whole country..... Cheaters, for example. It's not the viewers fault.

They signed up for the show we didn't. If they put themselves up for it, why not laugh?

True , and I think ppl love William Hung coz he can't sing but he has a charisma..and just to be honest ppl, most of you laugh at him too..I think this show is a good idea because these wannabe singers can improve their singing ability, and who knows they will get a recording contract because of it ...

They put themselves up for a chance to become like Kelly or Ruben. They didn't put themselves up to be made into the next Keith "Like a Virgin" for people to mock and ridicule.
