    Are you a hairstylist, Brandy?

I hate Cecile's hair. Too long and stringy looking.

LOL - no... but I sound like I must be huh?

Mine tends to get stringy too past shoulder length or so without a really overly expensive cut. I was usually told to make it shorter too I guess that's likely why I notice it in others. They look fine for 'real life' but since they're competing they need to look their utmost. I found the straggles distracting. Just my personal hangup. Lol

PS Also in her and Donna's case both I feel their features are delicate and they both have roundish faces. I think their features would 'pop' more with a shorter more face-framing cut. Not a pixie - just shorter & more unique. Not sure on Donna's but for Cecile sort of a modern Meg Ryan (not as cutesy or curly). Hmm, where's one of those software programs when ya need one...

I cant for the life of me figure out how Cecile made it on this show or how she's stayed in contention....nothing about her appeals to me, and she didnt impress the judges by falling apart.

Looks like the end is near. I was very relieved when Cecile survived the elimination. But next week she has to do something outstanding to stay on the show.

Her acting improv scared me (like the synopsis said - due credit there).

She has no vocal control when in an emotional scene and doesn't know what to do with her hands. To me that reeks of no training or bad training at least. She is a lot more green than I had suspected.

She does do well when comfortable BUT an actress cannot be uncomfortable with her own emotions! That's like a miner being uncomfortable with gold. When she is in an emotional scene her hands flail, and it's distracting. Her voice either goes waayyy up high or wayyy down low (so low it sounds like she is 'possessed').

Not a good sign that she said she was scared of her own anger. And the 2nd time I saw that scene, (yeh - I love this show LOL) I saw she was sweating up a storm during it - in a camisole top.

Maybe she had some bad training in the past, the teacher may have applauded students who simply belched up raw emotion in class. But it really is a craft like that teacher said last ep - you have to be in control all the time. Kind of a fine line to walk there.

She did look beautiful from her photo session onward.

Still think she should cut her hair or else maybe get a bit of extension done if she wants it long. But I had no idea til last ep how green she really was in her 'craft'.

She didn't get the lesson from that class at all. It's not believable for someone to just have a sky high emotion all through a scene, with no levels or depth (or 'colors' as Vivica put it). She just tore through it without stopping.

With that and her accent against her I can't see her winning now.

WAtching the scene from the Hillary Duff move earlier this week, it occured to me that Cecile's problem may have been that she just doesn't know the American High School genre very well. Just as Michellyne wore what she really wore to high school and the judge's commented that it ddin't look right, I'm not sure that Cecille understood from seeing the script, etc. that in the genre, this is the I'm saying I hate you and I'm done with you scene, but inside I'm all rose petals and beating hearts for you.....and we belong together and you can see me glowing and I can stand on my own two feet which now makes me irresistible.

While that's a typical teen love story plot, it seemed like Cecile didn't get the undercurrent....I assume they get all our movies over there, but she might not have known the Hillary Duff schtick.... and missed the whole I know you really want me bit and boy am I hot, but I have to act like I'm not quite aware of it. Instead of watching Disney network, Cecile might have been playing chess in South Africa or something.

You mean, she's not used to watching crappy movies?

I definitely get what you are saying. That is why, even though I think Cecil is very talented, she might be a little too intense for the high school dramas of the WB. She is more cut out for some highly dramatic big screen films.

    yep,
the problem is that the show isn't America's Next Top Actress....it's to be on WB dramedies. that tend to be rooted in some of our cultural conventions even when like Buffy they're also satirizing them at the same time.

    It's the difference between being good on 90210 and say Boys Don't Cry or Million Dollar Baby :}

Hilary Swank is obviously pretty credible in Oscar begging gender blurring roles...with slightly tortured soul characters.....

imo, she was not especially good or memorable in lightweight drama as a single mom opposite a lightweight of a boyfriend. It was almost like there was too much there for the role and the lines. I don't think Cecile is Hilary Swank but she feels more like aspiring stage actress than tv series actress.

i came to like Cecile a lot, she's beatiful, she's dramatic (yes she overdid it in Cinderella Story), she's got what it takes and she can be coached!

Good points! I think you guys are right.

She does need training though - she kind of does this flailing thing w/her hands when emotional. Her voice goes all over the map, too. A top actor has to be in control of his/her voice. She could get by on gritty tv dramas for now I think, (a tv director might simply give her direction as needed) which is why I said 'lady cop' earlier. But in a bigscreen cinematic film - she needs more experience & training. The stakes are higher. Plus she'd be ten feet tall with that "exorcist" voice & flailing hands.

I do like her though. I hope she hangs in there.
