    OMGosh!!!

It wasn't until I started *reading* news leading up to the Olympics that I realized I had the Brazilian president's name all wrong in my head. Her actual name is Dilma Rousseff, but whenever I heard NPR report on her I thought they were saying Jill Marousseff. Darn syllables and vowels!

One thing's for sure, Nathan Adrian is going to keep me watching swimming this year!

Regarding golf in Rio Olympics....husband and I noticed that none of the women golfers have pulled out. Have any of the track and field athletes withdrawn? I think that one of the other over riding reasons that the PGA golfers are withdrawing is the loss of money...not only not playing 2 tournaments but, there is a Title 20? that bans use of their image in Olympics in advertising....no Titleist ads of someone's golf ball rolling into hole and winning gold.

Um, hands off my Olympic boyfriend.
Before we begin, what are the parameters of the guessing game? How many guesses do I get? Is there a time limit?

And now there are entire national teams that are boycotting the Olympic village because there are leaking water pipes and exposed electrical wiring, the combination of which is naturally quite worrisome. Not to mention that the rooms appear to have beds and that's about it. Oh, yeah, and the toilets apparently aren't working either.

    From the article ....

RIO DE JANEIRO — Adding to the list of setbacks and stumbles for the Rio Olympics, the athletes’ village, home to thousands of athletes during the Summer Games, has been called unfit for occupancy.

Sunday was supposed to be move-in day for many athletes, but the leader of the Australian Olympic delegation said its athletes would not be checking in because of problems with the gas, electricity and plumbing.
